This rustic home situated in a secluded valley in Montserrat National Park, 60km from Barcelona was built after the Napoleonic wars. The legend has it that it was built with money stolen from the corpses of the defeated French soldiers after the battle of El Bruc. I rebuilt the house from a near ruin, respecting the original structure in 1992. I have decorated it with a notable and very personal collection of art. There is a picturesque view from every window.

Lovely historical home with an absolutely gorgeous view. We very much enjoyed our stay and were thankful for Josep’s communication and helpful local tips.

We booked this apartment spontaneously and were surprised such a wonderful place was available. Very nicely thought out apartment. Great views of the mountain. Nuria was also very helpful and accommodating.

Wir hatten einen wunderbaren Urlaub in der Unterkunft von David. Die Wohnung und das Anwesen sind sehr liebevoll gestaltet. Inmitten der Natur haben wir uns direkt sehr heimisch gefühlt und konnten die wunderschöne Umgebung genießen. David ist ein sehr freundlicher und herzlicher Gastgeber, in dessen Gegenwart man sich rundum wohl fühlt. Wir können die Unterkunft jedem empfehlen.

Nous avons passé un agréable séjour dans cette belle maison, pris dans les montagnes de Montserrat, où on retrouve beaucoup d’activités sur les alentours proche de Barcelone. L’autre est très accueillante, la maison correspond parfaitement à l’annonce, une terre rouge Marquer, l’empreinte de nos pas et le paysage, notamment de la terrasse et incroyable. Je vous la recommande les yeux fermés en famille ou entre amis ! 👍

Loved staying at Ingrid's place. great location to get a break from the city and be among beautiful mountains. The only thing to note is that there aren't any supermarkets walking distance so some planning is necessary!

Let me first say that of all the hosts I’ve met over the years, Pere was the most outgoing and helpful. He met us with the keys and gave us a great intro of the apartment, history of the area and warm welcoming. The apartment is rustic, eclectic and full of all the amenities you need to be comfortable. It was spotlessly clean, and I really appreciated that the bed was made with hand embroidered sheets. You just don’t see that anymore. The apartment also had unique antiques and the original ice box his grandfather had built into the kitchen. Just fascinating. The apartment was perfect location for accessing the town and the Cremallera de Montserrat train. It is located across the school and we liked listening to the kids in the morning and afternoon. Pere gave us ideas of where to park our car and places to eat that we could walk to. I loved getting to stay in this little town and would definitely recommend Pere’s welcoming apartment as part of your trip and experience!
