Tiny house vacation rentals in Quito

We stayed at Hostería la Roulotte during the very busy holiday weekend of All Souls Day. What we didn’t know before booking was that seemingly all of Quito was also going to be in Mindo that weekend, so it was very busy in town and all over the valley. Despite all the traffic, it was comfortable and quiet at Roulotte. The cabañas (cabins) are super cute and cozy and they do have warm water for the showers, which is especially nice. There is a lovely central building where the restaurant and bar are located. It has several tables for eating or gathering and a nice lounge area as well. It’s also the best spot on the property for decent WiFi, as the signal, like the noise from the road, doesn’t carry very far in the middle of the cloud forest. On the property you can enjoy great food, lounge in the hammocks, or try not to get lost in the bamboo labyrinth. La Roulotte is within easy walking distance of the butterfly farm and a chair lift that you can take up to the top of the hill for a great view and some hiking. Ignacio and his family are wonderful hosts who put every effort into making sure their guests are very comfortable and happy. We highly recommend this guesthouse for a peaceful getaway.

El sitio es perfecto para una escapada de la ciudad. La cercanía al Imbabura y la naturaleza alrededor te dejan relajarte en esta tranquila y acogedora cabaña. Súper recomendado! Katty y Lionel son hosts geniales! Personas generosas y atentas (sin ser intrusivas). Dejaron varias cosas para el desayuno y compartieron vegetales del huerto, que pareció un detallaso. En la lista para los lugares para volver :)

Ich war überrascht wie hervorragend alles vorbereitet war. Lebensmittelnotversorgunc, Kaffee, Tee, Zucker, Gewürze Bügelbrett und - eisen, Fön und vieles mehr. Alles in einem ruhigen Garten mit Feuerstelle und Hängematte. 8-)) Nächster Besuch in Quito sicher wieder hier! Danke Margarita!

Beautiful place! Julia was a very nice and accommodating host with the rental being within walking distance of all the happenings in Mindo yet feeling tucked away

Wonderful, peaceful cabin in Mindo. We had a great time in this cozy cabin, near to many attractions and the river! Elaine is a very hospitable and friendly host, she gave us some great recommendations for our stay in Mindo.

El lugar es muy lindo! La vista es espectacular. Muy limpio y ordenado. Está muy bien equipado y es seguro. Edwin, fue muy amable cuando nos recibió. Un lugar pet friendly de verdad. 🫶🏼

We had a fantastic time at Cabin Nr.3. We thoroughly enjoyed the Cabin and its beautiful surroundings. The Cabin is extremely well equipped. We didn’t have sufficient hot water for showering all throughout but that’s a minor issue considering the very relaxing nature of our stay. We hope we’ll be back soon!

Muy bonito lugar, acogedor e ideal para desconectarse del mundo y disfrutar de la naturaleza. La casa muy bien equipada con todo para cocinar y hacer parrillada! Alejandra fue muy amable e incluso nos ayudaron a cambiar la fecha de la reserva. Quedamos muy agradecidos y esperamos volver pronto

Very lovely accommodations! We loved the fire pit and s’mores, and the view was very peaceful. The space was quite nice, we did find it to be very cold even with the heat on and weren’t able to get the hot water to work for the shower, but we still had a great time and enjoyed our stay.

Pasamos unos días completamente relajados y tranquilos. La cabaña tiene todo lo que se necesita para desconectar de la rutina. Nuestras perritas estuvieron felices corriendo en el campo y los sonidos de los animalitos en la noche junto a la fogata completaron todo. Rafaela siempre respondió a nuestras dudas y fue muy muy amable igual que Gloria.

Fue una experiencia muy bonita, con mucha naturaleza y paz. Lo único que sugiero es que si hubiese servicio de restaurante fuera excelente.

We spent three absolutely incredible days in Jon and Cheryl’s cabin. The accommodation is beautiful, very comfortable, and perfectly equipped. The cabin is set in a truly stunning environment and allows you to fully enjoy nature. From the window, you can spot many birds (toucans, hummingbirds, etc) as well as many other animals within the reserve. Jon and Cheryl are very attentive, fascinating, and generous hosts, they will do everything to ensure you have an unforgettable stay. Don’t hesitate to talk with them about their project, you’ll discover how remarkable and inspiring the work they are doing to build their dream property with their own hands truly is. Even though everything you need is available to cook for yourself, we highly recommend choosing the meals they prepare, the food is simply outstanding. Thank you again for everything, this was one of the greatest highlights of our trip through South America, and we will never forget our time in your little paradise!

Todo estuvo perfecto. La ubicación es idónea y el lugar súper mágico, relajante y lindo. Lo único malo es que no pudimos usar la bañera porque el agua estaba demasiado sucia, tal vez es por que el agua venía directamente del río. Por lo demás, todo hermoso.

Un excelente lugar para desconectarse de la ciudad y de la cotidianidad, un lugar muy acogedor y con personas muy cálidas y amables, nos sentimos como en casa. Excelente ubicación y muy buena vía para llegar. 100% recomendado!!

Para desconectarse de la ciudad, disfrutar de una fogata, admirar el paisaje del valle de los chillos, o si prefieren una caminata al cerro Ilaló, con un excelente desayuno, cordialidad de sus anfitriones, definitivamente lo recomiendo

We had a great stay here, the views are fantastic, really good location near to the airport, which was ideal for us, and Xavier and his family were so welcoming to us, we really enjoyed our stay and would 100% recommend.

WOW! We were treated like family. This place is a real gem in the area. The Airbnb is a traditional house in a kitchwa community with 5 star service and a 10 start host. Unfortunately we stayed only for a night but felt like we were there for a week. Jaki gave us a tour of her farm and animals, my family cooked dinner together with her in a wood oven and ate the meal together like a big family. If you are are looking for not just an Airbnb but an experience of a traditional Ecuadorian life, this is the place! Jaki is a very thoughtful and caring person.
