Waterfront vacation rentals in Praia Formosa

We stayed 13 nights at Fatima's. We've never had a place so clean! The accommodation is damp but Fatima makes sure that we are as comfortable as possible (spare sheets, towels in large quantities, etc.). The apartment is very well equipped, we did not lack anything. The views are splendid! Fatima and her family know how to welcome us, they are very kind and very responsive to our requests. The only negative point, but which is minimal compared to the full potential of the accommodation, is the sound insulation. The ceiling is just a floor and we can hear Fatima and her family walking if we stay in the apartment during the day. The noise never woke us up or prevented us from falling asleep. We highly recommend this accommodation and now know where to stay if we have the opportunity to return to visit the beautiful island of Madeira.

The place was beautiful in a very quiet location with stunning views. Everything was clean and furnished with love so that you can only feel comfortable from the first moment. It had everything you need, we also loved the many kitchen utensils and the grill, which we used every day. The terrace with whirlpool, lounge, loungers and table were the highlight. We spent a lot of time in the accommodation because we felt so comfortable. The beach Calheta is 5 minutes by car easy to reach and highly recommended. We also loved the private parking. Bruno and Maria are very accommodating and also asked how we are doing and if we need anything. The location was perfect for us, very quiet, lots of privacy and yet we can get everywhere by car. We’ve enjoyed the stay at Tony’s apartment. It was easy to get there with very clear instructions. Ocean view was fantastic. We’d everything needed, including washing things. I would like to have some more coffee.

Very modern flat with a beautiful balcony and amazing views of the surroundings. The host answered quickly and was very friendly. Great place to stay and very close to the Airport. I would come back.

Beautiful view and very helpful host, would definitely stay again

A fantastic stay with Emanuel for 3 weeks , my longest stay at an Air BnB and was perfect for what i was looking for. The place is exactly as described and as in the pictures. Emanuel and his mum were great with communicating and making sure all questions were answered. The location was perfect and everything was within walking distance, most day trips would pick up from outside the apartment. Would 100% stay here again when I come back and cannot recommend them enough

Cristina was a wonderful host, always available with helpful tips and recommendations. The apartment was very clean and tidy, furnished, arranged and equipped in the best of taste. Stunning view, very quiet, even if very near to the expressway, and because of that perfect located to get everywhere easy and quick. Restaurants of all kind available within short driving time. Overall - very advisable!

We really enjoyed our stay in Madeira. This was the perfect home base for exploring the island. This home was amazing; larger and greater than expected. We really enjoyed the hot tub after a long day of hiking and exploring. I would definitely recommend this to others and would love to stay here again!

We felt very relaxed and comfortable at Antonio’s lovely house and the garden and views were impressive. We appreciated the interesting features in the garden with its nature feel and enjoyed the pool and sauna which we thought was a real asset for the place. The house is interesting and cared about and Antionio was an excellent and helpful host. We were glad of the car we hired to access shops, restaurants, beach and walking areas as without one would be difficult but it suited us really well as 4 adults who wanted a base from which to explore Madeira.

Scott’s place is a great place, not only because the back porch gave an EXCELLENT view, but there was a bus stop right outside the gate! Waking up and coming back to the gorgeous ocean view made our stay worth every penny!

Everything you needed was there. The place is stylish and clean. The host was always available and quick to respond.

We really enjoyed our holidays in Madeira and especially the apartment in Campanàrio. The apartment is cozy, newly renovated and equipped with everything you need. With a rental car, the location outside the capital is not a problem and you feel welcome in the village, in the bakery and in the shops. Luis is a perfect host, has an answer to all concerns and is still not intrusive. We highly recommend the place for a couple.

This was by far the best AirBnB we’ve ever stayed in. Antonio was so helpful from the very beginning (he sent lots of info ahead of our arrival), made sure we could check in in the morning after our early flight and welcomed us personally at his lovely house with pool and all amenities one could look for (specifically in the kitchen and bathrooms, where we found all types of equipment, shampoo, tissues etc). The beds were comfortable, the view was stunning. We were a group of 6 and enjoyed cooking together (particularly barbecuing outdoors), but the house offered many peaceful corners for each of us to relax in, too. We also really appreciated Antonio‘s recommendations for hikes and other things to do on the island. Thanks a lot for everything!!

This atypical accommodation on several floors is very beautiful and perfectly well appointed. We took advantage of the 3 outdoor spaces. Appreciated welcome with a nice touch on arrival (flowers, wine, beer, water, chocolate). We were also well advised for our outings and restaurants. Note: Not easy for me to park properly in the parking space but it is possible to park in a parking lot down the street. We are delighted with our stay at Adriana's

We had a great time at Horacio's place. The accommodation is nice, spacious, very clean, comfortable and perfectly equipped. Superb view of the sea, peaceful neighborhood. A small grocery store and restaurant a few meters from the accommodation. Perfect location to easily get around the island. Horacio is very welcoming and he cares that his guests have the best possible stay. Thank you Horacio for the great stay, we will definitely be coming back.

The beautiful location was a real highlight, boasting amazing sea views from the balcony that we enjoyed every single day. The lovely swimming pools on site were a fantastic bonus, perfect for a refreshing dip. Our hosts, Mariana and Ricardo, were so welcoming and helpful, always on hand to answer any questions and offer local tips. The great wifi was a practical plus, and we loved that the apartment was within walking distance to the main shops, making everything so convenient. Maria’s 8th-floor apartment was perfect! Super clean, spacious, and the balcony had amazing views of the marina, Santa Catarina park, and the city. It has two bedrooms — one with a double bed, the other with two singles — both with private bathrooms and closets. There are three bathrooms total, all spotless. The kitchen had everything, plus a dishwasher and coffee machine. Laura, who welcomed us, was so kind and helpful. She messaged me before arrival, arranged parking, explained everything in the apartment, and even brought us a big bottle of water and fresh coffee capsules the next day. She also gave great local tips. The building has great security and private parking. Honestly, the whole stay was smooth and comfortable. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Madeira — close to everything!

Great view, great accommodation!

This apartment has a very good vibe! Would definitely recommend or choose again! You can watch and listen to the waves which makes it even more amazing. It is simple, pure and clean, towels were big and had a great scent. Pillows were good quality and very comfortable. There is a restaurant (and by the way very good restaurant) in the neighborhood, it’s not disturbing, there’s no music or shouting but there is some business in the evening until guests leave around 9pm.

Iri’s place was absolutely breathtaking taking!! The view from the balcony was outstanding! You can see the beach. Her place has a washer drier which was super convenient. iri was super friendly and helpful! She is great !!!HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!

We really enjoyed our stay here. The view was beautiful and we loved being able to sit on the balcony and listen to the waves. The apartment had everything we needed and was a perfect home base. The host checked us in and walked us through the apartment to show us how things worked which was great. The location was not super walkable to restaurants and such for my parents due to the steep hills, but it wasn't an issue for us and the beach path was great to walk in the evenings. Definitely recommend.

We had a great time at Miguel and Ana’s place. They have a beautiful condo close to the sea and with a lovely balcony and view. Very spacious and a nice location. Overall, loved it!
