Vacation rentals with beach access in Pococí

What a location! Tortuguero is unique and Carmen (host), Angelo (Carmen’s husband and guide) and Hector (recommended guide with Angelo) helped shape our wonderful experience there. Accommodation perfectly located in quiet and brand new location 4 minutes walk outside the town, with a terrace overlooking the Caribbean. Although tour offers are plentiful in tortuguero , we would highly recommend choosing Angelo and Hector. With them, we went on a night time walk, early morning boat tour and day hike in national park. In this way, Instead of doing tours in large groups, we were just myself and wife, and got more a much more personalised trip. Seeing an incredible variety of animals and plants, going deeper into the canals than other boat trips, I’ve not felt this connected to nature in years. Would highly recommend this magical experience.

Julio, el dueño, es una persona impecable. Se encargó de organizar todo desde nuestra llegada al puerto de la Pavona. Cuando llegamos a Tortuguero, ya nos estaba esperando y nos acompañó hasta la habitación. Todo muy limpio y las camas muy buenas. Cogimos 2 excursiones con el y fueron excelentes. Tour nocturno y en canoa. Julio sabe muchísimo. Nosotros éramos 3 veterinarios y aún así aprendimos mucho de él. 100% recomendado. Repetiríamos seguro.

Die Unterkunft war neu, sauber und gut eingerichtet. Bei Dauerregen kann es auch lauter werden. Das Frühstück war sehr lecker man hatte auch gute Auswahlmöglichkeiten. Henry und seine Familie waren sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Sie haben uns auch bei der Abholung tatkräftig unterstützt. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Gerne wieder! :)

Logement en très bon état, situé au bord du parc national donc excentré du centre mais accessible à pied et surtout très sympa on peut y voir des animaux depuis le balcon. Hugo nous a fait profiter d’une excursion en canoë de 2h pour 2 personnes pour 60$ dollar en français ce qui était appréciable ! Très bon séjour

Was great. My second time staying with Henry as a host. Last time was the larger house. This time since only two of us I chose this riverfront place. Room was great. Hot water. Great AC. Big tv. Riverfront patio to watch the boats. Beach just a few steps away. Breakfast was huge and very very good beachfront. It’s a short walk from town and the boats pick you up and drop you directly at the house. Can be a bit of noise with the boats on the river. A lot of barking dogs etc. but I slept fine. The town is tiny so no matter where you stay you will hear these things.

Nous avons eu un accompagnement du bateau jusqu'à l'hôtel et pour chaque activité que nous avions choisi. L'appartement est bien situé, nous n'avons pas utilisé la cuisine. Jimmy nous a bien accueilli et il est arrangeant.

De ontvangst was zeer vriendelijk en duidelijk. De service was echt heel goed met zeer vriendelijke en snelle communicatie. We mochten ook eens laarzen gebruiken voor een wandeltocht en ze kwamen ons melden en mee nemen op het moment dat er een luiaard vlakbij was. Nogmaals bedankt voor alles! 👍

Allan's home was a perfect place for us to stay while in Tortuguero. He was a very responsive host and the location was great. Nothing is far in Tortuguero. Clean and comfortable with a fully shaded patio which was SO welcomed during the heat of the day. Would book again for any future trip.

I really enjoyed staying at Lorena’s cabin on the Rio Blanco: the river is absolutely gorgeous, the hike to river is beautiful and fun, and the home is beautiful and comfortable- didn’t even need any AC! The air flow was easy, not many bugs, and the air smelled so rich. We enjoyed the above ground pool - so cool after the car ride from the coast! Thank you, Lorena, for sharing your beautiful space with us: what a blessing!

We spent three days Tortuguero and enjoyed it immensely. Thanks so much to Christina for booking us with Sambola tours-a family run business that we used for three tours, all of them excellent. Christina was very responsive to all of our questions and even sent someone to meet us at the boat when we arrived to bring us to the house. The space was as advertised, with a beautiful front porch, which we enjoyed using during the rainy times to relax and watch wildlife. While not as secluded as we originally thought, we had no issue with having neighbors above and nearby. It added to the community feel of the town, which was so interesting to experience. Tortuguero is truly a unique and special place! Highly recommend this home as well as the night tour and kayak tour.

Super séjour à Tortuguero dans le logement d'Edward. Nous avons même partagé un repas avec nos hôtes très accueillants. Je recommande !

Celia was an amazing host, her house was equipped with comfy beds, and everything needed to cook at home: bring briquettes for the grill, other than that it was everything and more for our group of 4, (2 couples)

Mir wurde auf dem Weg von San José mein Rucksack im Bus geklaut. Janette hat mir sehr dabei geholfen mich zurecht zu finden und hat sehr viel Verständnis gehabt, weil ich am nächsten Tag direkt wieder los musste deswegen. Ich habe sogar mein Geld zurückgekriegt und nur für die eine Nacht gezahlt. Am Abend als ich ankam haben Janette und ihre Familie mir sogar ein Abendessen gekocht. Wenn ich das nächste mal nach Tortuguero gehe, dann gerne wieder bei Janette. Dieses mal passe ich aber besser auf meinen Rucksack auf :)

Heidy's place is a perfectly located, cosy spot from which to explore Tortuguero, relax and go to the beach. Less than five minutes walk to centre of town and boat drop off and pick up place, at one end of the street and beach at the other. It is also very quiet and private, we enjoyed using the patio for quiet meals or drinks. The beach is beautiful and their was a sloth one night in a coconut tree on the beach. Heidy had arranged for us to be met when we stepped off the boat and a local guide showed us to the flat. Heidy was always super responsive and helpful whenever we had a question. Please note there is no air-conditioning or hot water in the shower, but that didn't bother us, the fan kept us cool at night. I would love to come back to Tortuguero and hope to stay at Heidy's again.
