We spent several nights here and felt very comfortable. The place is very quiet and separated from the lake only by a small sandy path. Sometimes mopeds driven by locals pass by. The kitchen is well equipped, the terrace is very cozy with rocking chairs and hammock. We found it much nicer than in the photos and would come back any time.
A thatched-roof structure is framed by lush greenery, including large banana leaves and vibrant flowering plants. The building features large windows that create a connection with the surrounding nature, emphasizing a serene and natural environment.

This place is a nature lovers dream!!! The grounds are surrounded by incredible (fruit) trees, tropical plants, birds singing, frogs croaking, and butterflies dancing around! Adyana is a wonderful woman who puts her heart and her soul into this retreat! Eddy keeps the grounds immaculate, while Fran and Catherine take care of all the small details. Fran is a wealth of knowledge of the island and was always available to answer any questions we had! Fran and Catherine also made us daily breakfast for an additional fee-it was HUUUUGE! Myself and my big eater husband were satisfied for the better part of the day afterwards! Definitely worth the price considering it was practically breakfast and lunch! Thank you everyone! We had a wonderful time exploring the island!

I really enjoyed my stay a Bananas hospedaje. It's the perfect place if youre looking for a little tranquility. It's my favorite place in 9 months of traveling. Efraim and Guadalupe are very friendly and welcoming. Efraim is super helpful and knowledgeable about Ometepe. He was able to arrainge taxis, tours and pretty much whatever you need. They both go out of their way to help with whatever you need. The room was really comfortable and clean. The food is really good and at a really good price. Bananas is a really fun place to stay. In the evenings a flock of Magpies hop around the banana trees and right before dark hundreds of fireflies make the jungle sparkle. It's a five minute walk to the lake for swimming. I highly recommend checking it out for yourself. I hope to stay there again one day.
