Vacation rentals with a hot tub in Playa Potrero, Costa Rica

We absolutely loved our stay at Alina's amazing property. We felt right at home!! The whole property is even better than the pictures. It had everything we needed and beyond. We took full advantage of the lovely deck, pool and spa. Relaxing, playing games and soaking up the Costa Rican sunshine. Even lovely in the little rain we got. So much lovely nature around. The birding from the deck was awesome. We took advantage of her suggestions as to tours, shopping, adventures and great restaurants. We really hope to return someday. Do not hesitate to secure this Airbnb!! It's sooo worth it!!

This is our 3rd month in a row staying at Las Catalinas. Each month we have chosen a different Airbnb in the area. We felt right at home in location. Everything in the home was comfortable and just as advertised in the listing. We tried out the Beach Club that was included in the rental, but decided that we would spend time elsewhere due to all the children who were using the Beach Club as a playground. We did enjoy walking around the homes close to the Beach Club! That was a new experience during this visit. In January and February we were not aware that we could walk around this area. We would definitely recommend this location.

This was an extension stay in the very same gated community unit in Potrero, only 50 m away from the first one, about which I gave a review, and considered it one of the very best of my many AirBnB stays. And as this one happened to be Holly's long term Costarrican home, it certainly was a collector´s item, in many ways and unusually well supplied with all the necessities. Also, the property manager Lis was an excellent help in every potential situation. . Only one thing was sort of uncomfortable to me: the master bedroom bed, although very good in itself, was so low that it almost felt like sleeping on the mattress on the floor. As a very tall and very old man, it was a strenuous effort to get up during the night.If you have your own transportation, this one is highly recommended by my part.

Loved this condo! While we originally thought it was right on the beach, we thoroughly enjoyed how peaceful it ended up being a little bit away. We enjoyed the beach club right next to the property (small community pool, corn hole boards, ping pong, and sun loungers) and had it all to ourselves for the whole afternoon - which made it feel like our own personal oasis. We used the shuttle service a few times to go down to the beach and it worked seamlessly - it would have been ~15 minute walk. My son loved using the gym and said it was a great one! The condo had a washer and actual dryer which made it so nice to get our clothes washed before our 2nd half of trip! The back patio was amazing with comfortable furniture, we enjoyed coffee each morning and even BBQ’d one night on the grill. Host was very responsive! Would highly recommend this place!

We wish we could have stayed longer! This is such a wonderful location with stellar views. Perfect for our family. Best hosts we have ever dealt with. Amazing communication and very helpful with the entire process. You could tell how important it was for them that we enjoyed our stay. Thank you! Don't miss staying here if in Playa Hermosa.

We came here with our kids for a week and loved it! The pictured go not do it justice- The home and views Absolutely gorgeous! There was a home under construction next door but looks to be done in the coming few months. We turned up the music on the back porch and didn’t skip a beat! The home had everything anyone could need and the hosts were incredibly responsive and kind! A great stay, Just enough off the grid to be private but still an easy commute to Coco Bay Area!

This is the best choice if you want beauty, peace, and seclusion. The property stands at the top of a mountain at the end of a private road with a security gate protecting the only entrance to the property. The villa is spacious, and the grounds are vast. Every detail reminds you of the great sense of taste you have. We swam in the pool three times a day for an entire month. It was unbelievable! Roberto, our property keeper, was very helpful and generous with his time and over time became a good friend. He was able to help us locate anything we needed whenever we needed it. As others have stated you’ll want a 4x4 to get up and down the mountain as there are many steep loose gravel roads. Be prepared to see many lovely geckos on the patio at night and keep an eye on “Ralph” the large Iguana who walks around the property looking for sliced apples (you’ll want to provide the apples). Hands down the best AirBnb stay of my life! 10/10

The outdoor space in the house is absolutely wonderful! Spent a lot of time in the pool, hot tub, and lounging in the hammock. We had some difficultly finding the place and Jennifer was very helpful. We used Google Maps with no problem in La Fortuna, but I would use Waze here. The house has a ton of security features which made us feel super safe. It’s a great location to the nearby beaches and the grocery store. The house could use a little TLC (some kitchen cabinets falling apart, doors that don’t latch well, toilet paper holders that were loose, and could use a paint job), but none of these things took away from our wonderful time at this house and we would definitely return. Pura Vida!

Cassie was hands down the best Airbnb host we've had! She was the most thoughtful and nicest host, sharing a wealth of information in the welcome letter prior to our arrival. In the letter, her and her husband thought of everything to include to make it such a welcome and comfortable stay! Their home is so beautiful and we are so thankful for them to share it with us. What stood out was Cassie's quick responses and going above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed for a perfect stay, even before we asked! For example, Cassie knew that we were traveling with our toddler and asked if there was anything else she could provide for our child. She arranged for a highchair to be delivered which was so helpful! She was so accommodating and the best host in the most beautiful home.

This property was spectacular!!!We loved the location and the views were so beautiful. The infinity pool was a highlight. And the house itself was so clean and modern. The water filter inside the refrigerator was so useful!! Well equipped and the beach chairs and boogie boards were a nice touch! Perfect for 3 couples with plenty of room.

We had a great time at Todd’s place! The pictures were beautiful, but I think it was even better in person!! The view was amazing! We enjoyed watching the sunset every night from the patio. Marco was very friendly, and quick to respond. When we come back to Coco we will definitely stay here again. Thanks again!!

Casa Serendipity was pure magic for our family. As a wellness practitioner and mama of two little ones, I’ve stayed in many places—but this was truly a sanctuary. Mariela is the most incredible host—like a 24/7 concierge angel. From airport pick-up, car rental, grocery tips, to curated local gems—she thought of everything. The home is stunning, spacious, and incredibly private, yet perfectly located to easily explore the best beaches, restaurants, and adventures. We woke to birdsong, made meals in the outdoor kitchen, lounged by the pool, and even picked fresh mangoes. It was peaceful, secure, and deeply nourishing. Every detail supported ease and connection. After full days exploring, it felt like coming home to serenity. I would stay here every time—we’re already dreaming of our return. Mariela, thank you for creating this heart-centered haven. Hotel Balu was so lovely. We wish we had more time there to enjoy the casita’s space. The coffee machine was amazing and so were the outdoor amenities. Absolutely recommend!

Great location and great views. House was very well maintained and Angelica was exceptionally timely fixing any issues (all very minor). We stayed two weeks and the cleaners came after week one to do the house and pool which was wonderful.

Fantastic beach compound. Christelle's house is the very northernmost on Brasilita where its quiet. House is directly across the road (as close as you can get) from the beach. This is a new house with all the conveniences you would expect on a higher end listing. The outdoor is exactly as pictured and makes it easy to eat outdoors and lounge at the pool. Good security with locking gates and an electrical fence on the wall and an alarm system for the house. Just a great spot if you want to get on and off the beach fast and not be surrounded by lots of people yet be very close to some of the best restaurants in Guanacaste.

We had a wonderful time! The place was exactly as pictured, clean and had great views! The activities and pool were only a short walk. Lots of nearby restaurants and shopping. I would absolutely recommend staying at Stephen’s place!

The place is very conveniently located, 12 minutes from Playa Avellanas and about 30 minutes from Tamarindo. The hosts are amazing and Gabriel, in particular, is super open to making sure the customer is comfortable…for example, after check-out we went to the beach. Since we got covered in sand, we asked him if he would allow us to use some showers that were in the Airbnb parking area. Gabriel very kindly allowed us to use it, and even let us use the bathrooms of the place before we left for San José again.

Great lodging here. The treehouse is charming and full of character. The surroundings are filled with nature and beautiful animals (including the separate and well-attended doggie rescue). This was a very pleasant retreat and I would return there if I was back in that side of Guanacaste. Also, the beaches are close from a driving perspective.
