Samiro Villa: Hilltop Retreat / Pool & Views

TerryRating, 5 stars9 months ago
We spent 14 nights at Samiro Home Villa. Evi was the perfect host, thoughtful, considerate and responded very quickly to all queries. Everything about the villa was clean and excellent. The grounds offered plenty of opportunities for both sun and shade and the gas barbecue made meals at home easy. Perched high up in the hills, the villa is peaceful and commands marvellous views over the mountains and countryside. It is located an easy 30 minute drive from the centre of Heraklion (recommend parking in the port area €3 all day) and around 45 minutes from the major archaeological sites at Gortys, Phaistos and Agia Triada.

''Colours and Scents Cottage'' Ιraklion Kalessia

RichardRating, 5 stars4 months ago
I can thoroughly recommend the accommodation. It is set in a beautiful location and it is very peaceful. The owner seems to have been thought of everything you may need and she is very friendly and helpful. I hope to visit again in the near future.
Double doors frame a view of lush rolling hills, with a pot of cacti positioned on a tiled floor. The greenery spreads across the landscape, while the soft light filters through the open doors, creating a connection between the indoors and outdoors.

Traditional Cretan House "Agioklima" studio

EmilyRating, 5 stars6 months ago
I am beyond grateful for my time at the house. Niki is an incredible woman - experienced, excellent conversation, generous… Niki you are magic! The house is a very special space and I couldn’t recommend it enough if what you are looking for is tranquility, mystical nature, walking through the hills to visit other villages… I spent a month here alone, without a car, and I found everything I needed as I was looking for simplicity. The local shop in Pendamodi is only 15-20 minutes walking and stocks cheeses, tins, a good selection of carbohydrates, wine etc. Fruit and vegetables are in the city, but even by bus it is easy to do. I experimented with the buses and it seems it is most consistently arriving between 7:15am and 7:30am but recommend getting to the stop at 7:15 to be safe. The buses back from the city are 13:00 and 14:30 - it costs €2.20 per journey with cash (25 mins more or less) The village itself and the mountains are beyond incredible. Strongly recommend. I will return x x x

Myron Olive Villa Retreat

RajanRating, 5 stars9 months ago
Excellent hosts, impeccable Hellenic hospitality.; warm, thoughtful, helpful, responsive and really wonderful family. We met all three generations - Evi, her father Iracles/Hercules and the grandfather. They were helpful and friendly beyond duty. We loved our time there, away from tourist spots in the quiet of the countryside, yet only 20 minutes from Heraklion town & airport. We went out most days to explore the north and the south. - but Crete is huge … ! The drive to the south coast over the mountains is beautiful. The local village restaurant - a couple minute’s drive / 5-7 minutes walk - is excellent with good vegetarian options. The morning mug of coffee, looking out at the range of sun bathed mountains over the olive groves, farms, the horse(s) in the far field below, and the the distant sea was always a wonderful start to the day. That’s a memory to savor. Thank you Evi and Iracles for a wonderful stay, for your kindness and warmth. God willing we’ll be back.
