Family-friendly vacation rentals in Perry County

We rented this cabin for our 10th wedding anniversary. It was perfect for our weekend d getaway and delivered what we were looking for...relaxation and peaceful. The cabin itself was beautiful, then add in a hot tub, and a great space for a fire pit and game room in the basement! We will definitely rent from Jon again in the future!! 1000% recommend this cabin and renting fromJon!

Overall I had a great experience staying here. Check in process was simple and easy with a pin pad lock. The cabin itself was very clean on the inside. Unfortunately having a place out in the woods like that there are lots of bugs (ants) that tend to attract which we did have a lot of. However that would be any place like this. That is the on negative thing I can think of. The hot tub was definitely everyone’s favorite part and we enjoyed getting in it in the early mornings and late evenings. It’s very private and so peaceful!. The cabin is more than supplied with anything you might need. It has more stuff than any other place that I’ve stayed at. You feel right at home not having to worry about having stuff. I would definitely come back again this summer when we have some better weather!

Beautiful cabin! The place was very neat and the beds were very comfortable. We loved our time here. The view from the deck was also very beautiful and the area was so peaceful. Would definitely stay here again if we come back!

The cabin is beautiful and love the location! We got to see a doe the one morning just walking around in the woods! We had an issue with the TV that Brian was able to walk us through to get it working! He was very nice and quick to answer! It was a short trip but so worth it! We definitely would recommend this cabin and we plan to come back! Thank you for hosting us!

I can't say enough good things about this place. I was stressed out from work for the three hour drive to get there. As soon as I pulled up to the cabin, I felt at peace. It was the perfect place! I couldn't see another cabin near me. Once I walked in, any remnants of stress were definitely gone. The place was so cozy looking and perfectly clean - there were even vacuum marks on the couch. Besides being clean, this place made me feel at home with all of the tiny details - make-up wash cloths, kitchen ammenities like salt and pepper shaker, pam, dish soap in a cute dispensary. I always bring paper towels, garbage bags, alumnimum foil, and coffee supplies because you never know what you'll get with Airbnb, but I didn't need a thing at this cabin. If you've been to Hocking Hills, you know the park is amazing and that there are so many beautiful places to hike, eat, and enjoy yourself. My favorite place this time visiting was my cabin! I enjoyed hanging around the fire.

My family and I had such a fantastic stay at Brett and Tara’s place. I’ve stayed at a handful of places around Ohio, but this was definitely a favorite. It’s so close to Hocking which is great, and not to mention everything that there is to do right there at our home away from home! The home was equipped with everything you could ever think of, it was clean, quiet and private, and just beautiful. Thank you guys!

What a wonderful retreat! I stayed by myself as a little momma get away and it was perfect. The Zucchini bread is as good as everyone says! The hot tub was wonderful! The hosts were extremely responsive whenever I needed anything and really helpful! There are even games and toys for kids/toddlers if that is what you’re doing. I of course was vacationing FROM the kids toys lol but I love that if we go back there are things for the kids. Be advised that this is a basement apartment so you’ll hear footsteps and sometimes muffled voices just like you would in any house. It didnt bother me at all! The views are spectacular and the property is just so peaceful. 10/10 would recommend for sure!!

We had a great family getaway at this amazing property. The dogs enjoyed the big yard, and we enjoyed the hot tub after a long hike. Beautiful spot!

This airbnb was nostalgic, peaceful and absolutely beautiful. Denise was helpful, timely with any issues. The water tank was turned off, she right away came over and turned it on. We left a set of keys. Denise mailed them to us right away. Hot tub was clean. The horse in the stable next to the cabin was beautiful. I really like that Denise was right down the road. Denise referred us to trails, sight seeing and the happenings in the area. I just loved it there. So comfortable. We plan on scheduling another visit in the winter. Thank you so much Denise.

Bang for your buck! This is the 2nd time I've stayed at this cabin in the past month. Rustic cabin off the beaten path. The stars at night were insane! Much needed escape from the city!

Such a great spot. Personally, I had a little trouble with the camper stove, but I'm not super adept with working cooking equipment. Cameron had an air fryer and grill to boot. no sweat. This was the PERFECT get away spot. Gorgeous hikes so close, an awesome place to crash. If the weather had been nicer, would have loved to sit at any one of fire pits and relaxing Adirondack chair setups. Just keep a screen shot of code Cameron sends, service out in the hills can be tricky. Great time - hoping to get back.

Brookside cottage was a magical experience in terms of its location. The creek the water running the woods. It’s just spectacular. The beds were comfortable. The kitchen was clean. You had everything that you needed. Location was quite peaceful. It was everything that we wanted. I spent a mom’s weekend there with my daughter from Ohio University, and we also enjoyed the hot tub despite the rain.

The place was absolutely beautiful. We got to see plenty of deer and other wildlife right in the backyard. The amenities were plentiful and had way more space than what the pictures showed. The hosts were very helpful and responsive. I would definitely recommend this Airbnb and would return myself.

Really enjoyed our week staying at Jons cabin. He was a great host and very hospitable. The cabin was perfect for our group and the town of Athens is only a 10 minute drive down the road. Four of us spent a week bowhunting the property and every guy saw deer while in the woods. We target mature bucks and unfortunately were not able to seal the deal. It wasn’t for a lack of trying or seeing deer. The bucks just outsmarted us this time. We are already booked for next season and looking forward to it.

Very nice place to stay for the weekend. Deborah was so sweet and let us feed bill. Beautiful place and extremely quiet. Good place to gather thoughts and escape from everything.

Great location and very peaceful. The pool and hot tub were perfect. The pond is stocked. The keys would not work on any of the doors so a staff member came out and helped us get in. I would recommended sealing the deck since there are a lot of paint chips. We noticed there was a lot of dog hair under the sofas(we didn't have a dog).

We really enjoyed our stay here! The pool and hot tub were a huge bonus. The drive to most main hikes was between 25-30 minutes, so the location was ideal. Would definitely stay here again!

Everything was perfect, no complaints the hot tub was really nice to relax and the staff on the campgrounds were super friendly.

We had a wonderful weekend stay with 4 adults (2 couples), 3 tweens and 1 senior. Everyone had plenty of space and the cabin had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Check in/out is at another location about 15min away for the key, and there’s a nice little shop there too. Communication was easy to follow. Pool and hot tub were great activities, big private yard to run around and had a great bonfire for s’mores. We’re hoping to make this an annual family tradition!

Overall, this place was GREAT! There was plenty of space, and it was very peaceful—perfect for a relaxing getaway. We stayed as a group of 7 (my wife, our 3 kids, and 2 adult friends), and it never felt crowded. Pros: Spacious, private, a nice pond nearby, great pool and hot tub, and a comfortable patio area to hang out. Cons: The beds were a bit loud and on the less comfortable side—not a deal breaker, but worth noting. Also, the couch and chair were broken when we arrived. They probably just need an update, though they were still usable and fairly comfortable. Despite a few minor things, the overall experience was very positive. We'd definitely stay here again!

I have rented many modest cabins in Hocking Hills, and Fullbrooks stands out—everything we needed it to be. Great: well-appointed kitchen (sharp knives, sugar, salt/pepper); several outdoor spaces; super clean (including hot tub); clear stargazing (Milky Way); private (not secluded); comfy furniture throughout; extra towels, TP, paper towels, dish/hand soap; shocking lack of bugs*; dog-friendly (our big pup relished the free range—within easy view). Okay: 20-30 min drive to most HH attractions; patchy media (could connect phones to wifi, but even after resetting the router, couldn’t connect to Netflix/cast to TV from our phones); off-site check in/out added ~15 min x2 to our drive. Tips: Bring back-up matches for a fire and your own napkins. To those mindful of plastics/PFAS, the kitchen has only scratched up nonstick cookware; bring your own pot and pan, as well as a container to collect recyclables to take home. *1st Choice sprays for bugs, including bees. Poor pollinators. ☹
