House vacation rentals in Penobscot County

The house was perfect for us. Very clean and organized. Great host always responded in a timely manner. Was only about a 30 to 40 minute drive to Acadia National Park & Bar harbor, depending on traffic it could take longer. If we ever make it back to Maine I would definitely stay at the Higgins Retreat again. Thanks again Richard & Tina.

We loved our stay at Jason’s place! We had 10 total people staying for Labor Day weekend - 7 adults, 3 kids and a dog. We all had plenty of room, the house was gorgeous - especially the kitchen and living room! We used the pool, the lake (kayaks and canoes - lots of life jackets to choose from), the basketball court and were so thankful for the option to rent the pontoon boat! My son had a great time fishing. The neighborhood is very quiet. We also had fun checking out nearby antique shops one morning & going into Bangor one evening for dinner. We will be back!

A nice rustic, peaceful getaway for our crew at the end of a long day. We appreciated the space and the surrounding greenery of Maine!

Abigail’s place is perfect. Cozy, serene, and beautiful. You feel immediately at home when you walk in, the view from the windows is incredible. We enjoyed sitting out on the covered porch, looking out at the water, and watching for wildlife. The rooms were pristine and the pillows were beyond comfy. The addition across the kitchen was the ultimate place to lounge and relax - kid friendly too with day beds. We had a great experience and I can’t recommend this place enough. Our host left a couple of personalized touches which made the trip feel that much more special. Thank you Abigail for a great experience!

Cozy place with plenty of room for our group of 5! Decor was perfect for the entire place and each room had its own theme! Close to many places for hiking and also close enough to walk downtown to restaurants

We, my son, daughter and I, have said that this was one of our favorites we've stayed at in our forays away from home for work. The interior spaces were thoughtfully decorated which gave it a homey feel. Well done Lindsae!

This place was perfect for my family stay. the property and home had everything you could ever need for a comfortable stay. you could tell our host Olivia took pride in creating a warm and comfy atmosphere. My only problem was not being able to stay longer and enjoy it more. would have loved to have fired up the grill and sat by the fire pit in the back yard. my family absolutely loved everything. I would highly recommend to all thanks to olivia

This cozy little house was just as expected! My little dog really appreciated the quiet, fence back yard! We would stay here again if ever in the area.

Kevin and Cathy's place is spotlessly clean and in a pristine and serene setting. Great location on the lake with views of sunsets and sunrises. The kitchen and baths appear to be renovated and are in spotless condition with lots of supplies. We really didn't need a thing. There was never a need to reach out because instructions and pre-checkin in communications had already answered everything. We didn't use any of the many kayaks (a bit too chilly) but we did enjoy the firepit. We like the layout, with bedrooms on the top floor and living space downstairs - adults could sleep in while kids were free to have breakfast and play downstairs. I can't think of anything to add or change about this lodging. It was a wonderful visit.

Excellent host and property. Host responsive, friendly. Quiet, safe neighborhood. Spotless interior and well maintained exterior. All as advertised. This place is a keeper.

This home was very private and quiet. Any questions I had during my stay were quickly answered. I loved that the pellet stove was on when I arrived and it was easy to use. I went through a few bags of pellets that were provided. The bed was so comfortable. Ashley had cotton and flannel linens on the bed and it was very cozy. I slept so well. The WiFi was excellent. I opted to work for the week at the dining room table, so I could be by the pellet stove (it was in the single digits, with a foot of fresh snow on the ground, when I was there), but there’s a very functional desk in the bedroom too, with a lovely view outside. Speaking of snow, the storm hit on my third night and Ashley checked with me the day before to make sure I had everything I needed and suggested extra water in case the power went out. I didn’t lose power, but I was relaxed, knowing I was prepared. She even left out dog bowls and a towel for my pup! Great stay!

The house was clean and organized, comfortable!! Centralized for all areas of things to do!! Close to casino!! Very nice place !!

Our stay at Talia’s was great! The rooms were clean and beautiful. Also Talia was a great host. She is responsive and gave clear instructions. We really enjoyed our stay!

Rachel's house was a perfect place to stay for our short visit to Millinocket. It was easy to find...basically equidistant from town and NEOC...and the house cozy and nicely equipped. Our stay was remarkably quiet and peaceful and the views from the back windows/yard were amazing - indeed, the ~6" of snow we received on the final morning provided an idyllic setting.

Great place to stay after a long day hiking in Baxter. Slept 8 comfortably, has everything you need, huge TV, and cool vintage feel. Easy check in and hosts were great

The main house perfectly met our needs. The view to the lake was beautiful and the house was very clean. Beds were comfy (we did not use top bunks)

Kings cottage was the perfect place to unplug and recharge! It was so peaceful and quiet!! The sunsets were unreal and the wild life was awesome to see!! Befriended a few loons and bald eagles!!! 10/10 would recommend!!! I would absolutely revisit!!!! Ryan and his family were attentive hosts, very polite and thoughtful!!! Made this vacation such a breeze!! Cannot thank them enough!!! -this place is a hidden gem!!!-

Absolutely wonderful house! Everything was exactly what was pictured. There were extra amenities like cooking spices and fresh fire wood. We also loved the proximity to downtown. The hosts were friendly and responsive. We look forward to rent again in the future!
