Vacation rentals with beach access in Penacova

We had such a great time with our two children (6 years and 2 months old). The apartment was sparkling clean and had everything we needed, including things for the children. It was nice and cool inside, even when the outside temperature was quite high at times (above 30 degrees Celsius). The mattresses were comfortable and the shower perfect. We also appreciated the little touches all around - toys for the pool, sunscreen or hand sanitiser in the common areas. Our 6 year old son was fascinated by the chickens and loved feeding them. The area itself is quiet which we loved. At the same time, Lidl was only 15 minutes away by car. We also enjoyed spending time at the two river beaches which are only a few minutes away by car. Ingeborg and Ruben were very helpful and available whenever we had a question. We also appreciated the lovely breakfast they provided us with on our first day before we were able to get groceries from a supermarket. All in all, we felt at home and very welcomed and we didn’t want to leave. Thank you so much for a lovely week!

Very nice place, taken care of and with a fairly large pool. Hosts are very thoughtful and friendly. The place is quite well located for those who come by car and intend to visit the river beaches of the area. There are no large supermarkets in the locality, so you should keep in mind that shopping should all be done at once. For a 6-person space, the refrigerator is quite reduced. However, we had a great stay and recommend this accommodation for rural vacations.

Great welcome from Elsa, very helpful, the house is in a beautiful area, where there are many places and there are up to 5 minutes on foot in the center

We felt super comfortable. The decor was very modern and well maintained, everything was very clean. Parking is right outside the door. The apartment is very light-flooded and you still have your privacy, as the windows are all facing an undeveloped area. By car you can make day trips to both Coimbra and Aveiro and the beach is also only 30 minutes away. Cantanhede itself is also quite large and offers everything you need. In the living room, the ceiling height is a little lower, which means that very tall people have to duck a little, but for a stay of a few days, I think you can live with it.

It was a very nice cottage, small, but everything was in good material, nice shower, nicely decorated with nice wood details. We slept wonderfully with the windows open and the sound of the river, otherwise it was completely quiet at night. Outside nice terraces, wonderfully seated with our feet in the river, a fantastic environment, completely unobstructed views at the back of the house and a lovely hamlet. We walked every day for half an hour to Gois, a beautiful village with river and delicious pastries at the paladeria. We thought it was very nice!

This little house was perfect and very comfortable, we had everything we needed and the location was great for what we wanted to do. Jose is a very pro-active host and made check in and locating the house very easy. The local villagers were also very friendly which made us feel very welcome.

We loved the stay at Antonio’s Place. He was really helpful with recommendations for hiking etc. The view is amazing and eating breakfast in the sun as well as having dinner in the sunset was superb. Would highly recommend staying here!

The view from the terrace is absolutely stunning. It is very large terrace and overlooks the river, the two bridges and the village. It has several trees and it’s just wonderful to have a drink and relax. The house is a vintage house with a vintage decoration. Plenty of light in our bedroom, the bed was comfortable and the water pressure in the shower was good. Breakfast was very tasty. We had a wonderful stay. Thank you Claudia for all you kindness and responsiveness.

Very pleasant stay. Comfortable, very clean and well-organized accommodation, with all the amenities needed for a stay with family or friends. Very quiet location, close to the river beach. The host was always very cordial and always responded very quickly.

We (family of 4) had a great time at Joanne's home! We instantly felt welcome. Joanne offered us a lot of creative activities (art, playing, excercising) and was always available for us. Great hospitality, beautiful peaceful place and a cozy, clean house. We had an amazing time.

The house was adorable, and perfect for people traveling with dogs (the outside is fenced off, so it is perfectly safe). A typical Portuguese house, with everything we might have needed (plenty of spare blankets, towels, utensils, appliances, board games, you name it). The host was impeccable, and when there was an issue with the jacuzzi, she solved it promptly, and even compensated us for the inconvenience gifting us with a late check-out. There isn't much to do around, but the scenery is breathtaking. We really loved soaking in the jacuzzi in a cold winter night looking up at the starry sky. Highly recommend!
