This is my return visit to the simple, comfortable, clean hotel, run by nice people. It's a short walk away from shops and warungs galore...
The cabin features a modern exterior with a sloped roof and distinctive wall textures. Large windows allow natural light, while decorative elements like horns and signage enhance its rustic appeal. A cozy seating area is situated outside, surrounded by a landscaped yard with palm trees.

It was nice to stay there, view was amazing, the hospitality was awesome, two things that need improvement 1. The road was bad, also it was hard to find location 2. Needed wifi connection But overall it was awesome for staycation
An outdoor terrace is shown, featuring a table with a modern design. Two blue planters are positioned attractively around the area. A vintage cart is displayed at the edge of the terrace, with a scenic view of the green landscape and distant mountains in the background.

Ne' Pakku Manja Family Home (1) - Homestay Toraja

RoseRating, 5 stars1 week ago
Meyske was an amazing host—and truly the best guide you could hope for in Toraja. Her home is so cosy that coming back after a day of exploring felt just like returning home. We loved the opportunity to share and exchange stories with other guests, and with Meyske and David, who were both such warm, generous hosts. The food was absolutely delicious—homemade meals that made each evening extra special. We were also lucky enough to have Meyske guide us for a day, and it was an unforgettable experience. Her deep knowledge of Torajan culture, combined with her thoughtful understanding of Western perspectives, made her the perfect bridge into the local traditions and way of life. If you have the chance to stay with her, don't hesitate—you’ll feel welcomed, enriched, and very well taken care of. Thank you, Meyske and David, for the lovely welcome and a truly memorable stay!

Ne' Pakku Manja Family Home (2) - Homestay Toraja

I spent 5 days with Meyske. The accommodation was very nice, and the location was great as well. I was able to rent a scooter on-site and explore the area. Meyske was always available and also helped me with my onward travel. The breakfast and dinner were excellent every day. I hope to come back one day. Warm regards to the whole family and the village. Overall, this was one of my best experiences on my trip! ❤️

A lush green landscape unfolds, featuring terraced rice fields that stretch towards distant hills. Wisps of mist hover above the ground, creating a serene atmosphere. Towering trees and bamboo add depth to the scene, with a glimpse of the forest framing the horizon.

HILL HOUSE GARUDA a recently built Forest Cabin.

FranRating, 5 stars7 months ago
Hill House Garuda is situated in a beautiful part of Toraja where the mountain air is cool and the breeze in the evening means you sleep well. We slept on the new queen sized bed which was very comfortable. Agus and her two lovely young children looked after our needs - supplying breakfast and dinner on request - always with a smile. Ayub, who speaks excellent English picked us up at the airport and was our very informative guide for the next two days. We learned so much about Torajan culture and were lucky to see a wedding and also attend a funeral. We bought food in the market to cook the very special Pa’Piong which Ayub is very proficient at. It’s cooked in bamboo over an open fire and tastes delicious. If you want to experience living in a quiet place out of town with beautiful locals to look after you we highly recommend.
A single-story building is shown, featuring a red roof and a white exterior. Surrounding palm trees are visible, adding to the setting. The property is enclosed by a low, white wall with decorative elements and includes several openings.
