On our 60 acre nature sanctuary at Wellnesste Lodge and named in honor of Jane Goodall for the amazing work she's done in the name of conservation. Our treehouse is the perfect place to getaway from it all. Set in our pine forest, the treehouse has two stories with an open air 2nd story balcony, reading nook, kitchenette & sleeping loft (up a small ladder). This is a semi-rustic treehouse has electricity & heat and in addition you have access to a detached full bathroom with shower.
“Adorable, well-equipped tree house on a beautiful stretch of land by the river. We loved our stay here. Had everything we could have needed and really got to enjoy exploring the outdoors. We brought our two dogs with us and can reiterate previous travelers' comments that this space is cozy and serene. We were thankful for the impressive amenities (considering it is a literal tree house), tea lights, books, and games. The design and architecture are so impressive! The owner, Christophe, was very responsive and helpful. He shared with us how he came to build this property, as well as some nature tips which we appreciated. Somehow we missed that there is no running water in the cabin, so we would recommend bringing your own bottled water to get you by. A few gallons of water are provided and happily refilled as needed, but we are big water drinkers. The shower is a shared space for all of the cabins on site. We were not there long enough to need to use, but they looked perfectly nice. The tree house is set away from the other structures on the property, though still in sight of them; so you have privacy, but also a light tether to the rest of the wellnesste commune. Cabin was well heated by small electric heater. The heat does not cover the un-insulated loft/reading nook. It was a bit chilly while we visited so we didn't get to fully appreciate this space, nor the second floor balcony, as much as we would have liked, but that is why we shall return :) Be sure to bring outdoorsy clothes and check yourselves for ticks when you return to the cabin. We found one on us there and one in our stuff when we got home. The roof is tin and since the bed is lofted, you are right under it. We loved listening to the rain, but if you are a light sleeper, I'd bring ear plugs or a sound machine. Had it been warmer, we would have opened the window to let the river be our own personal sound machine. We would definitely recommend for any adventurous, easy-going types. We are already planning a return trip with friends.”
