We had a great time staying here. Check in was super easy which was helpful as we came in late on a train. Was very walkable to all attractions in the city. Bedding was cozy, and we appreciated the laundry!

we had a lovely stay in the property. There was a stream right behind the stay and the sound of water gushing pleasantly drowned out any noise that rarely came from the main Street. Naoki had stashed a lot of food, yogurt and bread for us. He was kind enough to take us to Takayama and let us experience traditional Japanese archery. we stayed at Naoki's property for 3 days and enjoyed every bit of the stay and the village.

It was a very relaxing accommodation.Even if two people stay, you can use the space luxuriously. It has been renovated, but the good qualities of a rural Japanese house have been retained. The cleaning was well done and it was comfortable. There is also a hot spring with an open-air bath nearby, so I went to soak in the bath. There is a river nearby, it is quiet, and the location is good, making it ideal for evening and early morning walks. It is right next to Hakusan Hie Shrine, so it is recommended for those who want to visit the shrine.

Deluxe Room - Kuro - Machiya Heritage Hotel

It was an absolute treat to stay in this beautiful restored machiya building in Kanazawa. Every little detail of the hotel was gorgeous, from the wood floors to the dimmable lighting to the garden adjoining one entire side of the room. The bed was very comfortable, the shared kitchen was convenient, the shower was amazing, and the location was perfect for exploring the heart of the city. I’m so glad we had a chance to stay here!

The hosts were incredibly friendly and attentive. They helped us find local bikes to hire and recommended places for us to visit. We loved returning in the evenings to tell them about our adventures. They were so accommodating and easy to communicate with. It’s easy to find the place and the rooms are immaculate and beautifully decorated. The shared bathrooms were pristine and cleaned daily. It was a short walk along the river to the city and plenty of public transport options. We had a wonderful stay and would love to return to this beautiful place again one day. Thank you Kanazawa Kigen team much love from Hannah and Simon and NZ!
