The place is extremely peaceful and relaxing. The house is in a stunning spot in Hillswick—a charming little town with scenic walks around the peninsula and a lovely sandy beach. It’s literally right by the sea and just a short (less than 5-minute) walk from the Hillswick shop, where you can pick up all the essentials. The hosts are incredibly kind and responsive, making the stay even more enjoyable. A perfect place to relax and visit Shetland.

South house is in the most beautiful, peaceful location. It was exactly as described - a handmade, quirky home. This was our first visit to Shetland and it was a great base for North Mainland; Esha Ness, Ronas Hill, Yell and Unst. We had already spent two days camping in South Mainland to visit St Ninian’s Isle, Jarlshof, Sumburgh and Lerwick. We were so lucky with the weather and the little beach below the house ‘The Blade’, was perfect to put in a sea kayak or for a spot of mackerel fishing. We would definitely use it again.

Midfield Croft is a great base for exploring Northmavine and the Northern Isles. It's a sympathetically updated traditional croft house (with perhaps the exception of the excellent and modern bathroom with both stand-up shower and bath). The kitchen was well equipped and the lounge was oh so comfortable. Oh, and room for three bedrooms upstairs (we used the twin). Bruce and Family were lovely. It's clearly a working croft but they all found time to chat and make suggestions for places to visit. We were even warned about a seasonal hazard, namely that the starlings were nesting! We will always remember eating breakfast and watching chickens and rabbits just outside and the new born lambs in the nearest field. We will also recall the stubborn starlings. Every morning we had to check under the car bonnet and the boot sill for their repeated attempts at nest making! In short, highly recommended.

Emily's cottage was absolutely wonderful. Really cosy and well equipped. Had everything I needed to be happy and comfortable. Breathtaking views of the surrounding area and plenty of walks to do from right out the front door. Emily was an excellent host and went above and beyond to make me feel welcome and supported.
