Zé da Nora's house is a two-story house, prepared for Local Accommodation and is right in the center of Vila de Oleiros. The house is filled with typical details of the Beira Baixa region, such as the "rodilhas" (wooden kneelers), the olive oil mats or the "mantas de fitas" (handmade lace bedspreads). The house was designed to accommodate 4 people (one bedroom, one sofa bed) and has one extra bed for children. In winter, it is prepared for the cold with a wood-burning stove. We look forward to seeing you with a smile and Beira's friendliness!

Grandma's house

House of Schist in the center of Portugal

Three schist houses being restored at the village of Cunqueiros, in the municipality of Proença-a-Nova, form the Casas da Encosta project. Here it’s possible to relive the life history and culture of the region’s people in the comfort of a typical Portuguese village. According to the owner, Nuno Caldeira, the houses are being restored following the local construction tradition where schist, clay and wood are featured. One of them, Casa da Lagariça, has already opened.
