Cabin vacation rentals in Old Rag Mountain

My family and I loved our stay at Sherilynn’s cabin! The cabin has everything you could want and then some! It had plenty of space and everyone appreciated not having to share bedrooms or fight over bathrooms. We really enjoyed eating on the screened in porch, playing in the creek (We watched a snake eat a fish one night) and both fire pits. The cabin is a perfect base camp for adventures in Shenandoah National Park too. Sherilynn was very responsive and answered all our questions. We would definitely stay there again!

We had a really nice time at the cabin. Everything was laid out very nicely and was ready for us the moment we arrived. The space is beautiful and right on the lake. It was extremely peaceful to sit in the large screened deck and hang out with the stunning lake in view. Hope to stay here again some day!

We had a lovely stay at this cabin in the woods. Standing at the center of the cabin, you end up surrounded by nature as you are able to look through all the windows and the sky light at the beautiful greenery. It was a sweet sanctuary from the city. I appreciated every detail that enhanced my relaxation and comfort at this cabin from the many amenities to the decor. It’s a perfect escape.

A beautiful cabin, well updated, and well located. Loved that Maybelle’s is just a stone’s throw while at the same time you are nestled in the woods to getaway. Beds were super comfy, and creature comforts were available. Made for an excellent blend of rustic look/location while having new conveyances. Absolutely recommend and also want to say how I appreciated the personal touch of host reaching out personally to ensure everything was going well. Thank you!

This is our second property stay from this host group. We have enjoyed both mountain top locations and truly felt like we could disconnect, relax, and have a few small adventures with our pup. Truly Amazing Views!!!! Clean neutral colors and updated amenities. Easy to find things to cook with. **Also- Shout out to The Italian Job Pizza spot. We had crazy rain which delayed our getting to the house from DC, so we shifted from cooking to ordering in and they delivered!!!!!

We traveled with our 2 kids (2 and 4) and like others mentioned this listing has everything you could need! The listing even had step stools my 4 year old to reach the sink to wash her own hands. The hot tub was fantastic, extremely clean and comfortable. We visited Shenendoah National Park and it was a great home base. Definitely bring your groceries as it is a very secluded area and it’s a great space to cook grill, relax and reset ! Very comfortable, clean and organized!

We fell asleep to the sound of the creek on the property and enjoyed sitting by the camp fire several nights. Dark skies made for great stargazing. While we spent most of our time away from the house during the day hiking and looking at beautiful overlooks, we slept well in comfortable beds and watched a few of the DVDs that were available in the evening. I’d definitely stay here again.

We really enjoyed our stay. We enjoyed rainy mornings drinking coffee and movie nights on the screened porch! There are lots of thoughtful touches and a well equipped kitchen. Thanks for having us!

House was as described and comfortable. It is a peaceful area and our dogs loved having lots of yard to play and run, and patrol for deer. We enjoyed sitting on the covered porch rain and shine. It would have been nice to have a Keurig coffee machine but the kitchen is otherwise well equipped. Beds were all comfortable and house was clean. It was nice having a washer/dryer to use. The gas grill and hot tub were both a plus. Great place to visit when you want to bring the pups with you. Not a lot to do in the area but a visit to the Luray Caverns is worth it as well as a ride along Skyline Drive. For little ones, there is a playground behind the local elementary school as well as a nice one in Luray. Walmart, Food Lion, Dunkin, and other stores are conveniently located in Luray. Triple Crown BBQ was a hit for takeout and Chop House Bistro was excellent for dinner out. As is clearly noted in the home, ticks are plentiful so dogs should be checked regularly - we found a few on them daily.

Our second year staying in this beautiful, peaceful cabin was even better than the first. The space is lovely and immaculately clean, and the outdoor setting is huge, private and gorgeous. The hosts went way above and beyond and are extremely responsive. Thank you for a perfect stay!!!!!

Sundance was everything we hoped and more! The pictures really don't do the view or the river access justice, they are breathtaking. The back wall full of windows and sliding screen doors made us feel like we were in the middle of the woods even as we were sitting on the couch, which is exactly what we wanted. The kitchen had all the necessary tools and the cookies and coffee were very appreciated! Easy to spend the day lounging by the river roasting marshmallows and hotdogs on the firepit, playing cards on the deck and watching the sunset over the mountains, or hopping over to one of the many nearby hiking trails. We'll definitely be back.

We had an amazing time at the cabin. It was exactly as described and the photos are 100% accurate. The drive up was a crazy adventure, but once you're up there, it's breathtaking. We found a lot to do in the area as far as local eateries, breweries, etc and also had a great time sightseeing. I would recommend this destination to anyone looking to get away and have a wonderful mountain adventure. We would be happy to go back again. Jessica the host was amazing and was quick to update us on everything and give us advice on the property and local area. Thank you for such a great time!

We loved our stay at Conway Cabin! The location was exactly what we hoped for, and the river across the street was an added bonus. We were looking for a quiet, serene weekend, so not having cellphone service was honestly a bonus for us. Melissa was so helpful and the cabin has so many details that really help guests get around and find things they need. Best of all, the cabin had a genuine, cozy feeling to it! We loved all of the seating on the front porch, the cozy couch with the fireplace, and all the cute decor. We hope to be back :)

Archer's Ridge was wonderful. The house was so nicely decorated and the beds could not have been comfier. Loved all the little touches and how easy it was to communicate with Stephanie. Can't wait to stay again soon!

Cozy accommodations with everything we needed for a spring fishing and hiking trip. Right next to the trailhead and 4 miles from Grave's Lodge and the little store. Wifi worked great. And the backyard firepit was well stocked with wood and kindling. Nothing fancy but clean and comfortable. After a long day hiking and fishing, it was just what was needed to roast hot dogs and marshmallows over an open fire and then getting a good night's sleep.

From the moment I set foot on the property my heart skipped a beat. Everything about our stay was a perfect. The cabin was clean and cozy. All the practical things comfortable bed, cold ac, hot shower, well stocked kitchen, comfy couch, big windows for taking in the peaceful surroundings and watching the bison. Getting into town was an easy 15min drive if you wish. But I never wanted to leave. I could not have wished for a better view of the bison. I watched them come out into the pasture every morning, sun bathe, munch on grass, roll in the dirt, and retire up the hill each evening. This was the most amazingly relaxing couple of days and more than I could have dreamed. I cannot wait to return.

This place is a great getaway for those who want a peaceful place to disconnect. We loved the rustic cabin feel and being able to walk out to the pond and fish. Jane was very responsive and helpful the entire trip. We would absolutely recommend to anyone. Would love to book this again in the future!

We had an amazing time at Carolyn'a place. It was probably the cleanest house I have ever rented and looks brand new. Beds were very comfy. The grounds were gorgeous and my kids loved running around in the backyard, even the 13 yr old which is nothing short of a miracle. We enjoyed outdoor meals, sitting around the fire pit and fishing. Cabin is very close to Luray and Shenadoah National Park.

Amazing, peaceful, and clean stay at Jim and Jen’s rustic cabin. They both were very responsive and accommodating. The cabin had everything we needed and more! If you want some snacks, random supplies, or dessert there is a small store with a deli at the end of the road. We went there to grab some breakfast and milkshakes throughout our stay. We spent our nice cozy nights playing board games that were provided, watching some shows off the smart TV and looking at the stars beside one of the three fireplaces. The beds were very comfortable. There are plenty of pots, pans, and appliances you need to cook just about anything which was such a nice surprise. This property has so much outside to explore and walk to. My husband woke up and went fishing in one of the ponds out back. A fisherman’s dream! For hunters, this place is also a dream. Just a short drive to Rapidan. Perfect location and a nice getaway with or without the kiddos.
