“We had a great time over our 4 night stay for the holidays. Awesome views, very clean place, lots of local tips very well organized in different binders ...it has everything you need and more! The only issue we had was with the WiFi, which was inconsistent, otherwise everything was better than we expected. Would definitely recommend.”
You will enjoy a lovely room with its own private entrance, bathroom and sauna. It adjoins a deck with a hot tub and patio furniture featuring spectacular views of the Topa Topa Mountains and a great place to observe Ojai's unique "Pink Moment." *
“If you are seeking a remote spot to tune out the city noise and do NOTHING... this is definitely it! It's August and it is HOT (luckily you can control your own A/C in your room) but that didn't deter me from using the private sauna in my bathroom and deck jacuzzi in the evenings. Loved the hammock (why hasn't anyone mentioned this in their reviews?!) and lounging on the deck watching the stars (you might even see a fox or coyote or who knows what... but it's all in peace, the creatures are just looking for water). I stayed for 2 nights and brought some things that needed to be refrigerated (you have your own "private" fridge near the kitchen). I don't think I would feel comfortable using Liz's and Steve's kitchen, although both were totally welcoming me to use it. Speaking of Steve and Liz... communication is on point and they are both genuine, kind peeps. They even extended an invitation to explore their home, which I accepted, but didn't actually followed up on. After all, I am Swiss and I respect privacy, but what I could see is a home of creativity and love for the arts. Kind welcoming hosts indeed... I even overstayed as I was reading the check out to be 2pm instead of noon, and Steve was beyond accommodating. The ONLY suggestion I have is that instead of the many little water bottles you offer guests (in the bathroom... for coffee & tea, along with snacks), offer larger bottles or just one huge one. Plastic waste is real and unnecessary and it doesn't seem to go along with the philosophy of your beautiful home. The rest is what all the other guests already mentioned: sparkling clean room, fast internet, beautiful garden, privacy, good communication, etc. BTW, during dry August, the creek is actually dry, although the pond is still filled with water. Overall... this is not a party location to go crazy at night with plenty of booze in the jacuzzi. It is for one person looking to seek serenity (MEEEE!!!) or a couple to find some much needed alone time. Truly a magical spot and worth every penny. I am already considering booking this hidden gem in colder months!”

“This was a wonderful stay....comfortable in every way. Ann really does mean you have the whole backyard to yourself - even though she lives in the house, she does everything to make it feel like you are alone back there. I enjoyed yoga on the deck at the foot of the waterfall wall, an evening hot tub, and lounging at the fire pit under the moon. She treats her guests to plush amenities, and over the top snacks and beverages and puts everything she has into making the place as sanitary and clean as possible. I hope in the rare event she has the place to herself that she can relax enjoy it as her guests have the opportunity to do. Thank you Ann!”
