A lovely cabin and a friendly host. The cabin was tidy when we got there. It’s a perfect place for a couple in the journey. Thanks for the drop off service and the farm tour. Jit was really supportive and gave us some good advice. And thanks so much for the Fiji fruit. Definitely will visit again in the future.

Well appointed, perfect for large groups of skiers, mountain bikers or hikers and families. Great summer or winter holiday house. Drying room and secure garage for sports gear.

No cleaning fee. The cabin is a bedroom with the toilet, shower and kitchen located separately a few metres away. You are on the tip of a peninsula in the Whanganui River. Lie in bed and watch the fish rise in the morning or maybe sit around the fire in the evening enjoying the peace and quiet after a refreshing swim. Mountains are 40 mins away, kayaking tours 10 mins away and Taumarunui is 12km. Please don't bring water, free, safe water is provided. Limiting plastic is much appreciated.

All bedrooms are off the main living area which encourages plenty of family time. 20 meter walk to shuttle pick up in National Park. The famous Tongariro Crossing, Ring of Fire (March 2020), 42 Traverse are some of the regions major events. National Park has access to awesome mountain bike tracks and some of the most beautiful scenic walking treks in New Zealand. Cafes and pubs all within 5mins walk.

Was the perfect location for us to explore the area, including the forgotten highway. We were impressed how good the heating options were, x2 efficient heat pumps and great log burner, with heat transfer into the bedrooms, plenty of wood available. It was easy to feel at home as lots of personal touches throughout. We were a multi-generational family of 6 but could imagine x2 families would work well with the space. We self catered and kitchen was well set up to do this.

The charming cottage is set on a spacious lawn, framed by low maintenance gardens. A striking red door welcomes visitors, contrasting with the white exterior. A car is parked in the driveway, and a shed is visible to the right, surrounded by lush greenery.

Kunekune Cottage is a delightful place to unwind. Super close to stunning bushwalks and warm and inviting. Amanda is an excellent and thoughtful host and we would happily stay again and recommend this beautiful cottage to others. Well-equipped kitchen, cozily and tastefully furnished, and the fireplace kept it nice and warm.

A wooden dining table, surrounded by matching chairs, occupies the center of the room. Natural light enters through large glass doors, highlighting the rustic charm of the space. Greenery decorates the walls, and a painting of a coastal scene adds color to the decor.

Came as a large family looking for somewhere to base ourselves for the Tongariro crossing. Plenty of space for us to kick back & relax. Host was exceptional, the place is well looked after and suitably equipped for both hot & cold weather. Kitchen had all we needed and more. BBQ was great, nice outdoor space to enjoy food and drinks.

A spacious living area features large windows that allow natural light to enhance the open design. A wooden dining table and an island bar are complemented by separate seating zones. The area is finished with neutral-colored carpeting and offers views of the surrounding nature.

The views were absolutely stunning and I’ve never experienced such breathtaking scenery. The location was perfect, just a short distance from Tongariro National Park, one of New Zealand’s most beautiful parks. The host was incredibly kind and responsive, always making sure we had everything we needed. The beds were so comfortable, and I had the best sleep after a long day of hiking. The garage was a huge bonus, making it easy to store all our gear, and we rented a van which was incredibly convenient to park inside. The washer and dryer were very useful for cleaning up after our adventures. There were two bathrooms and two showers, which made getting ready in the mornings a breeze for our family. The small touches were greatly appreciated, like the coffee pods the host left for us, which made for a cozy start to the morning. There was also a swing outside, perfect for relaxing and soaking in the views. Overall, this place was perfect. Highly recommend!!

Wonderful place to relax and feel at home. Modern design and equipment. Compact yet cosy and inviting. Great outdoor space. The location is perfect because it is a quiet area, but only a short drive time to Taupo and likewise to Tongarino National Park.

A modern living area features a stylish wood stove, creating a focal point against the backdrop of panoramic windows that offer views of the surrounding hills. Cozy window seats are complemented by soft cushions, while a wooden serving platter rests on a light-colored armchair nearby.
