Gorgeous Serenity in the City with Views near Haight Ashbury Golden Gate Park

Settle into this amazing, light filled, stunning old San Francisco Victorian that I have called home for 23 years. With incredible south facing city and park views, relax in the open space of a large great room! Filled with character, this completely renovated Victorian has 118 years of history and stories to tell. We are centrally located to the culinary delights of NOPA and the Haight Ashbury / Cole Valley neighborhoods and perfect for walking and exploring. Take a stroll or go for a run in Golden Gate Park (two blocks away) and don’t forget to check out Ocean beach at the far end of the park. Let us know if you have special requests, we would love to customize your stay, offer recommendations of restaurants to visit or share the location of many great hikes or places of interest to visit here in San Francisco or just outside the city. Our available three bedrooms in the flat are great fit for families and groups up to 6 adults (2 per bed in queen size beds). The décor of our home is one of a kind in terms of family heirlooms, vintage décor, collectibles and amenities gathered from our travels though out the world including from trips to Mexico, Guatemala, Columbia, Peru, Argentina, India, Nepal, Morocco and Egypt and here in the US including San Francisco. If you love to cook, we have a gourmet kitchen with professional appliances (Wolf and Subzero) and a large dining table that comfortably sits 6 people. The entire flat is light filled and airy. This entire building was meticulously renovated and detailed by me and various craftsmen over the course of my 23 years living here and features a 700 square foot south facing great room with incredible city views of the park and twin peaks. Each room has been appointed with hotel quality mattresses and bedding and enough closet space for you to make yourself at home. Both bathrooms have been fully renovated and the entire home features radiant floor heating and dual pane windows to keep you warm on those chilly SF nights. Our home is stocked with books, games, playing cards and is a perfect place to unwind and relax with friends and family. Nest Learning Thermostats keep the house at a perfect temperature. A washer & dryer in the flat are available for your use. Bedrooms - Bedroom #1: Is one of two front bedrooms, features a queen wrought iron bed with a spacious dresser. The closet has stacked double hanging rods for tons of storage space. This room has a bay window looking out to St. Ignatius Church. Bedroom #2: Is the second of two front bedrooms and features an armoires as well as a large closet and a queen size upholstered bed. This bedroom also has views of St. Ignatius church. This bedroom features a chandelier original to the house. Bedroom #3: Is nestled in the interior of the house which makes it extra cozy and has two large closets, a large dresser and queen size upholstered bed. The Bathrooms - The first bathroom features a modern tub/shower, beautiful porcelain subway tile and herringbone bathroom floors. There is plenty of storage in the custom cabinets and vanity. There is plenty of hot water for a hot shower or relaxing soak in the tub. The second bathroom features a large shower with porcelain subway tile and herringbone floors. There is plenty of water pressure in this shower! Both bathrooms have organic and natural brand shampoos, conditioners and body washes. The Kitchen - The kitchen is well equipped with chef grade All-clad and Le Creuset pots and pans, Global chef’s knives and Laguiole steak knifes and utensils and serving sets. For coffee drinkers there is a burr grinder and insulated stainless steel French press. For tea drinkers a loose leaf tea pot. Parking - I am often asked if I have parking available in my garage. Unfortunately I do not as I keep my personal vehicle and a few motorcycles that I use on a regular basis inside and unfortunately there is no additional room. Street parking in the neighborhood is allowed at night and on the weekends. Residential parking permits for residents are required between the hours of 8am to 6pm However non resident may park during those hours for up to 2 hours. It has been my experience that parking enforcement does not begin until 930 am and ends by 330 pm however this is not guaranteed. Given a two hour allotment for non residents you are usually safe to park up to about 10 am and safe to park after 330pm with out getting a ticket or two hours during those posted permit times. Non residents may park on Fulton street west of Stanyan street which is about 2 block from my home. This street requires no permits however be mindful of the once a week street cleaning that takes place for a few hours and is posted on street signs along Fulton street. Amenities We have wifi and a number of amenities to make sure your stay is a wonderful one. I provide fresh whole local boutique coffee beans and an assortment of teas We provide organic laundry detergents and softeners for your stay as well. The unit features a smart TV with guest accounts for Netflix and Hulu. We are available and happy to answer questions about your stay and SF to make the most of your trip. Our location In the heart or center of the city just a few blocks from incredible Golden Gate Park, the apartment is within walking distance of NOPA/Divisadero street corridor of incredible restaurants, Haight Ashbury, The DeYoung museum, Academy of Sciences, Conservatory of Flowers, Stow Lake, plus many other great restaurants and shops. Transportation Many great options for public transit exist including metro light rail, Hayes 21 and Fulton 5 bus lines blocks away and of course Uber and Lyft. The Muni N Judah line at the intersection Carl street & Cole street stop is just 8 blocks away (10 minutes walk) and can take you downtown in just 15 minutes or out to the Ocean Beach. There are many places/kiosks to rent pedal and e-bikes “Bay Wheels” nearby as well. Walkable location - Walking Score of 96 makes us a walkers paradise And Bike Score of 93 There are “Bay Wheels” bike sharing stations 2 blocks away at Fell and Stanyan and 3 blocks away at Grove and Masonic There is a local corner store "Cindy's Market" at the intersection of Cole street and Hayes street that has a great selection of drinks, beer and wine as well as food and other items and an assortment of restaurants and coffee next door HOUSE SUPPLIES The flat is fully stocked with cleaning essentials, clothing irons, ironing boards, etc. We also provide cooking basics like spices and olive oils. Please let us know if you have a special request which can be purchased prior to your arrival. Accessibility For those that are mobility impaired please note There are 10 steps from the side walk to the front entrance / porch (This is fairly typical of most San Francisco homes). Fabulous Artist Flat in the Heart of Potrero Hill

Decorated in the eclectic bohemian spirit of San Francisco, the living space is filled with original artwork, vibrant colors and souvenirs from travel. The flat, with its easy-going creative vibe, just might be the place you discover inspiration for your next project. We have always used a commercial grade steamer on mattresses, pillows and duvets after each guest. Please no shoes worn inside. The flat is clean, comfortable and familiar, and at the same time filled with eclectic artistic touches that surprise and delight our guests. To help you with your bearings: It’s walking distance to UCSF Mission Bay Women's and Children's Hospital, Chase Center, Adobe, Pinterest, Airbnb HQ, Zygna, California College of the Arts and the Showplace Square/Design Center. The SF Muni bus lines #22, #19 and #10 are close by. The Muni T line is about 5 blocks away for access to the downtown Financial Center or shopping at Union Square. You are close to two CAL train stations for easy access to Silicon Valley. Additionally, it is: 25 minutes drive from San Francisco International Airport 15 minute walk to Chase Center 20-25 minute walk to Oracle Park Stadium 5 minute walk to UCSF Medical Center Situated between the 280 and 101 freeways, which makes it an ideal location for travel south to the Peninsula, or if you have to go the East Bay via 80 freeway. The flat is located in a mixed use live/work neighborhood, part single family homes and part small business and warehouses. We have a king Tuft and Needle bed in the bedroom plus a queen bed in part of the double parlor. Roku tv, NetFlix, refrigerator, dishwasher, stove/oven, Additional kitchen essentials include pots and pans, utensils, plates, glasses, cutlery and microwave. There's a coffee maker in the kitchen for you, but if you're feeling spirited in the morning, it's a 3 minute walk up the hill to a neighborhood coffee shop. A stretch of local restaurants - both casual and fine - begins a block away. No chain restaurants in this neighborhood! A neighborhood mail center is walking distance for your UPS and FedEx package drop-offs, or to buy and mail some San Francisco souvenirs or postcards. Add the easiest neighborhood parking in San Francisco (it’s true!) plus a host that will help you get settled in, and be available throughout your stay to answer any questions…well, you have found a great place to stay! I hope you'll consider our flat for a little Southern hospitality and San Francisco charm. The flat is located in Potrero Hill, a neighborhood known for its sunny weather and stunning views of the city. Grab brunch at Plow or one of the many non-chain restaurants, and then spend the afternoon exploring neighborhoods like the Mission, Noe Valley, Dogpatch or Union Square. SF Airport is approx 25 minutes away by car. We are about a 15 minute walk to Chase Center, and a 25-30 minute walk to Oracle Park. Potrero is a live/work neighborhood filled with single-family homes and warehouses.

Relaxed Apartment with a Patio in The Castro

Brew a cup of coffee in a cozy kitchen with elegant tiling and find a seat on a decked patio wrapped in a leafy garden. Curl up with a book on a modern sofa in a living area boasting colorful paintings, a stocked bookcase, and exposed wood beams. The unit is a private apartment below the main house with a private entrance. There is one bedroom and a pull out queen sofa. There is room for approx four people (2 per bed) and one bathroom. The summer kitchen features a brand new quartz counter top, beautiful spanish tile backsplash, drink refrigerator with freezer, microwave, toaster oven (for light heating), and a full set of dishes and glass ware for pizza night at home. There is closet and shelf space for your extra goods and an iron with an ironing board. It's so close to the action it's not even funny! :-) Guests are invited to use the private patio space just outside of the guest unit. We live right upstairs so fully available to all guests during their stay and only a quick text away. The apartment occupies the remodeled lower level of a house in the historic Castro neighborhood. A vibrant nightlife and dining scene is steps away. Head to the iconic Castro Theatre to see a film or take a scenic stroll to Mission Dolores Park. The Muni is a 7 minute walk that takes you to the BART transport to the airport and downtown and financial district. Several buses that run through this area to the rest of the city. Busy area in terms of Lyft/Uber/cabs. Parking can be a bit tough at times, but we never have too much trouble finding a space a block or less from the house. The neighborhood does however, require a parking permit per day. Unfortunately, I have a limited number of passes and will not be able to offer these with the unit. Please be mindful that tickets may be given, but they are generally more sticklers about street cleaning that daily parking permits. I am currently trying to locate nightly parking facilities nearby. If you can manage here without a car, that would be best.

We built this apartment with the thought that someday we would live in it ourselves. Thus, we chose to go "high end" with construction materials, appliances (Viking stovetop), fixtures and cookware. The apartment opens to our backyard garden, with a patio and bocce court. Two blocks from Golden Gate Park, we are close to main bus lines, museums, great restaurants, and beautiful hikes. I was recently honored by Airbnb for having consistently been a Superhost since the program began, years ago.
