Private Island on a Lake Sleeps 39

PeterRating, 5 stars46 months ago
This property is a bit of heaven on earth. The lodge is a very pleasant building that causes each guest to decompress as they walk into it from the dock. All the cabins have decks on the lake and a perfect blend of rustic and comfortable. There is something for every age to enjoy and lovely areas for all ages to hang out together. Having all the kayaks and paddle boards was such fun for everyone to play together all around the island. Some fished, some just walked from the comfortable chairs on the deck, and many took pictures of all the wonderful memories being made. You could have your own space in the cabins for babies to nap, etc or be all together. I loved the quiet at night and we didn't have to drive hours into the mountains to get it. There is more recreation available than you could possibly utilize yet so peaceful and rejuvenating.

Becks Camp

MindyRating, 5 stars45 months ago
The Beck's home is wonderful with gorgeous views from the wrap around deck. One feature of the house that we took full advantage of is the screened porch, a real plus in Maine. The kitchen is well equipped and included a filtered water tap and ice maker. Wifi was stable throughout our stay. It was an easy drive to Deer Isle Village, hiking trails, and Stonington. Island Agency was very responsive and helpful. A great stay overall. We hope to return next year.

Waterfront Island Maine Getaway

HalRating, 5 stars8 months ago
A remote, private and beautiful home on 20 acres. The house is like an older farmhouse with great views to the west from every room. The waterfront deck is perfect to watch sunsets, and the house is decorated with interesting and beautiful art and other objects. Would definitely stay there again.

Our family had a wonderful time swimming, boating, fishing, hiking the trails, canoeing and sitting by the nightly campfire. Whenever we had needs, Michelle answered promptly and graciously. Lee was a huge help, as well. FANTASTIC hosts!!!!

19th Century Island Cottage

We absolutely loved our stay at eagle island. The cabin is very rustic, and might not be for everyone, but for us it was perfect. Beautiful surroundings and very private. We had fun discovering the island and getting to know the history and the few neighbors. We hope to come back.

Crow Island Nature Lovers Off the Grid Island

LindaRating, 5 stars10 months ago
We were delighted to get a chance to stay on this beautiful island in a quiet spot surrounded by water and birds! I liked walking barefoot in the mudflats during low tide…! Very well stocked and we appreciated Deborah’s flexibility around the weather. Hope to come back!

Island Tent Overlook in Maine

JaclynRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
1 Big Sustainable Island is a nature lovers dream!! While relaxing and fishing by the dock, you can hear so many birds (especially loons) and while out on the canoes/kayaks provided, you may even see an Osprey! The space felt so private and secluded amongst nature, while having all of the "glamping" amenities. We will definitely be back! Thanks for a wonderful weekend, Keith and team :) Also, transportation to and from the island is VERY convenient. Keith and his team were great with helping transport our items on and off the boat and to our site. Be prepared for a decent walk to the bathrooms though if you stay at Loon Point.

Isle Be Back!

FrancescaRating, 5 stars9 months ago
Rachel’s place was perfect. Being new to the island, I had lots of questions during my planning to take my family to Matinicus for a week and Rachel responded quickly and kindly each time. She even bought a new and improved blender for us in case the other two in the kitchen weren’t quite right. The house suited us to a tea. Comfortable and peaceful. The perfect place for my family to reconnect after being spread out during a busy summer. But here is the best example of Rachel’s kindness: We forgot our car key in the house and only realized once we were on the boat back. We called Rachel from Rockland make sure the key was still in the house. She quickly found it and ran it to the mail plane who was able to get it us a few hours later. It was amazing.

CT Private Home on Belden Island

AimeeRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
This home was authentically rustic and charming. We really enjoyed the privacy, the views, the porch swing and the fire pit. The island itself is lovely. One note is that there is essentially no heat (which we knew from the listing). However, the weather was unseasonably cold during our stay and some of our guests left early due to the home being too chilly for comfort. I expect this is only an issue during a few weeks of the season. The Thimble Island ferry was very accommodating in arranging transportation to and from the island.

Island Cottage Getaway in Casco Bay!!

MeganRating, 5 stars9 months ago
Getting up everyday and walking to the beach, or watching the sunrise from the porch really set our day off on the right foot. We spent all day on the beach, or exploring the island. My kids collected bags of seaglass and driftwood. We splashed in the waves, soaking in all the sunshine and salty air goodness. Nights were spent taking sunset walks, making smores by the fire, and star gazing. We saw Saturn and the Milky Way! My kids had a great time on the lobster boat with Jerry. Homeschool science lesson!!! I planned and packed as if we would be camping, and that allowed us to fully enjoy the home and vacation for exactly what it was. We had hot water to wash dishes, and do sunset baths in a bin outside. My husband showered and didnt have any hot water complaints. Things I recommend-sponges, coffee if you are picky (I am), watershoes, castile soap (can be used for all cleaning needs), bug spray, headlamps for exploring at night, and a well stocked first aid kit just in case.

Private island home on Tuckernuck, Nantucket

SarahRating, 5 stars9 months ago
After knowing Nantucket for decades but feeing sadness at the development and change through the years, I always longed to visit Tuckernuck when eyeing it from Smith Point. As soon as I connected with John and heard about the Decoy, I knew it would be a trip like nothing else. Tuckernuck was truly stepping into the past. The property itself afforded acres of privacy, incredible sunrises, stargazing, and sky/sea-scapes, and excellent comraderie with yard games and visiting. The house is a museum where the love and history of generations is preserved, and was stocked with everything we could have needed. The island - well, I don't have the words to describe that. But something of another world for the adventurous and those who crave lack of modernization and a simpler time. My dog, group, and I had the trip and experience of a lifetime, and nothing can compare. Harry and Mark were above and beyond communicators and help despite challenging circumstances. We couldn't be more grateful.
