There is a separate indoor bath from the Hinoki bath, but the view of Setouchi and the starry sky from the Goemon bath, heated with firewood, is the best. If you're lucky, you'll see artificial satellites and meteors. The water heated by firewood never gets cold. It warms you from the core of your body. The bedding is specially ordered from a long-established bedding manufacturer in Kyoto, and the bath invites you to relax your body and mind and sleep soundly. Most guests say they sleep well. During the day, you might want to spend some time in the lounge filled with houseplants. Enjoy the sunlight shining through the trees from the skylight. KAIWA NO SATO This old house is an indigo mansion built in the first year of the Bunsei era (1804) during the heyday of indigo. The main house and the sleeping area (a barn where indigo was stored) have been demolished due to aging, but the historic living room and garden have been preserved to allow guests to experience a little bit of that time, and it is used as a farmhouse inn. In the old days, "Indigofera" grew on the fertile land of the Yoshino River basin in Tokushima Prefecture, bringing great wealth to Tokushima Prefecture (Awa Province). Ancient documents on indigo, including cultural properties, are also available for viewing. You can use the entire second floor of a newly built house in Nankoku City, which is located next to Kochi City. It is a two-unit house, and you can go directly to the 2nd floor from the private door. 2LDK, 25 tsubo (80 square meters), spacious room with a focus on interior and lighting. There is a distance from the neighboring house, and the view of the fields spreads from the window, so you can spend a quiet and relaxing time. A Healing ceramic water purifier is installed at the water source. All the water that comes out of the faucet (including the bath) is delicious water that can be drunk as it passes through the water purifier. 15 minutes by car from Kochi Airport. It is a very convenient location, 12 minutes from the highway entrance, Nangoku Interchange, and 5 minutes from Nankoku South Interchange. It is not far from Kochi City, about 15 minutes. It is a great place to use as a base for sightseeing trips, with good access to both the east and west of Kochi Prefecture. As of 2024, mobile phones have become much easier to connect to. （no wi-fi） The air conditioner was installed in 2022, but it is only on the first floor.Enjoy the natural air. There is a fan. Firewood isn't available from May as it will be warmer.

Ricefields, Rivers and Mountains

This house is a beautiful blend of traditional and modern making it convenient but also authentically Japanese. Mountains and ricefields are beside you, the Shimanto River can be heard. The ground floor is all yours. It's spacious with a large tatami sleeping room that can become two. The A/C is only in one room if the doors are closed. There is no central heating. Restaurants are within 10min or you can prepare local foods in your own equipped kitchen. It’s designed for long and short stays.
