There are many walking courses where you can enjoy the scenery of Nagano's nature, such as the mountain road leading to Togakushi Shrine, which has a history of more than 2,000 years, wetlands, and the Alps viewing course. It is a 10-minute walk to the Daisa Hossho Pond, where you can enjoy forest adventures for children and adults and take a walk along the lake. Water activities at Lake Nojiri and city sightseeing such as Zenkoji Temple are also within 20 minutes by car. All ski resorts in the Hokushin Gokaku (Togakushi, Kurohime, Myoko, Madarao) in northern Nagano can be accessed within 30 minutes. After procuring fresh ingredients locally, move to the Rock Forest, park your car in the parking lot, and go up the stairs to bring the ingredients to the hearth space. You won't see any other people. It is 60 minutes by Shinkansen from Tokyo to Karuizawa, and 30 minutes by car from Karuizawa Station, so you can work in the morning and take a half-day off in the afternoon, for example.
