More sights are within one hour from us - Puffins, Hengifoss waterfall, reindeer park and more. Ideal if you want to stay a few days to explore and relax.

Off-grid cabin

Secluded cozy cabin that offers incredible views and a private waterfall. The cabin has 5 beds and two sofa beds. Included with the stay is private access to 3000 acres of beautiful nature to enjoy. A 4x4 car is recommended but not necessary if you are willing to walk the last 100 meters. Important: it is off grid and so it has very limited electricity and only cold running water. There is gas heating, gas grilling and a stove available. IMPORTANT FOR WINTER BOOKINGS: 4x4 car is required

Sænautasel gives you a opportunity to experience living as people did in the olden days in Iceland. You should therefore be aware that there is no electricity. Everybody is sleeping in “Baðstofan”, which the space over the kitchen is called in Icelandic. Breakfast and/or Dinner is available for extra charge. You need to book this in advance at least 2 days prior. If you decide to book 2 nights you should be aware that Sænautasel functions as a guided museum from 12-17 PM.

This is one of three rooms in our beautiful accommodation at Mjóanes farm. This is a SMALL ROOM, 6m2 (square meters) and a very good for 1 person, it is very comfortable and cozy with good bed 90x200 cm. It is 18 km. from Egilsstaðir on road 931 at the south side of the lake on the way to Hallormsstaðir. The closest grocery store is in town Egilsstaðir. Good paved road, passable all the year. Quiet, peaceful and beautiful landscape.

Relax in this special and quiet Skógur (forest) accommodation: The apartment is 31 m² in size. Non-smoking accommodation. Wi-Fi included Open lake view, mountain view, private bathroom with shower, toilet and sink. A fully equipped kitchen with coffee machine, microwave, toaster, kettle, fridge and 2 ceramic hobs. In the kitchen there is coffee, tea, sugar, salt, pepper and oil. No children allowed on this property.
