Monthly Rentals in Mourne

We had a wonderful and peaceful time at Eolides Villas. Family of four (kids aged 0-3) stayed there for a month. Key highlights of our stay was: - Beautiful villa, with everything in order (everything is new, clean, comfortable - clearly well taken care of by the host and her crew) - Fantastic view of the mountains - Great outdoor area, with nice clean pool, BBQ, heated shower, and a nice play area for the kids - Location in the "middle" of Crete means there is some distance to the beach, but on the other hand you have 20-30 min driving distance to a variety of great beaches (north and south), coastal towns, gorges, mountains, and other great experiences and sights - The local host. She welcomed us late at night with homemade food and wrapped presents for the kids, and followed us up throughout the stay with tips for beaches and experiences, homemade cakes and drinks. The 3-year old was very sad to leave her at the end of the stay.

We had stayed in this stone cottage 8 years ago and our return confirmed the delightful setting in a wooded valley full of greenery and birdsong with the old abandoned buildings adjacent adding an air of mystery. The cottage is equipped with all the facilities two people need, though the sleeping mezzanine, accessed by a steep wooden staircase, is a little short of headspace! Outside, the terraced area is beautiful with many mature plants, and it is almost completely private save for the very occasional walkers on the path above. Much sun-bathing was enjoyed, whether direct or in the dappled shade. Above all, there is a wonderful feeling of tranquillity to this place that finds a place in your heart. Angela and her family were very good in maintaining contact: full marks there! One last point: if you wish to drive to park as close as possible, it is essential to have the smallest car available as the stone-walled access was obviously made to suit tiny donkey-carts! A great stay!

This is a cool, stylish and comfortable apartment. The mattress is good and the shower is hot. It is a short stroll from the village centre which makes it a peaceful spot at night, but very convenient for the shops and restaurants. We were greeted so warmly by Eleni, who showed us where everything was and, as other guests have mentioned, brought us homemade treats during our stay. If returning to Spili we would certainly hope to stay here.

I did enjoy the stay so much. The village is nice located and very silent with a little restaurant. You can reach a lot of beaches or trekking destination easy. Gina herself is e very friendly and interesting person. I loved to stay there with her cats and dogs. I was very Impressed of her engagement for the animals help on Crete. I will come back.
