Beautiful home, well maintained. Host was very proactive and even let us know that the area the home was had a power outage prior to our arrival which fortunately resolved by the time we arrived. Pool was a great temperature for dipping into after laying in the sun. Spacious living area. We would happily stay there again.

Michael’s place is very accommodating with all the amenities described. My family travelled from several different locations to be together here and it all worked perfectly. I was bummed that the other visiting guests not staying there could not use the pool, but I understand the liability and respect the rules. All in all, it was a wonderful trip!

The place was gorgeous, we enjoyed the pool and lime tree!! Would stay again. great location to visit my brother.

The view alone is worth the price! Everything was so lush and beautiful! We felt like we were in our very own private resort. We enjoyed the spacious house itself and the outdoor area. The pool was great and the beds were super comfortable! This was a great base to explore the entire Big Island of Hawaii! I would recommend this home to anyone! Just book it already!

We enjoyed the private and peaceful location and it worked out well for our brief stay on that side of the island with a reasonable drive to some areas that were just too far from the west side of the island. The bed was comfortable and we appreciated the AC as my husband gets hot and sweaty at night without it. The frogs were loud at night but the fan helped cover the noise so we appreciated it. We didn't get the chance to meet our hosts but had a great stay overall and would happily stay again in the future.

Beautiful home on the peaceful Hamakua Coast. Our family enjoyed a wonderful and quiet staycation - the pool was delightful and temp was just right with the cool ocean breeze. Kitchen was stocked with basic essentials making cooking easy. Very comfortable sleep spaces - cool breeze at night with windows open. Loved every minute! Suzy was very friendly and responsive. The grounds were so beautiful - lots of flowers and fruits surrounding us. I highly recommend this home as your next getaway. I will stay here again. Thank you Suzy and Peter!

Very large 2 bedroom, 2 bath, 2 decks off the beaten path. Linens and robes were very soft, and slippers included. I appreciated the quintet of coffee brewing methods: French press, drip, percolator, and pour over.

A lovely getaway! So grateful for the warm hospitality and to spend a couple nights in this quiet corner of paradise.

Ron was able to accommodate for us during a last minute booking, and did so with very helpful instructions. He turned a stressful situation into a very pleasant experience. Place was nice and looked like pictures. Price was very fair and expected. Would recommend.

We had a few hiccups at the beginning, and Vanessa was extremely responsive and took care of all our needs immediately. The home was beautiful and spacious and had all the extras we needed! Would 100% recommend to anyone to stay at this location, it was amazing!

Everything was as described and we enjoyed our stay at the property - it was between Hilo and Volcanoes which worked well for us. Cooling the bedroom down does take some time, as the A/C is only in the living room and the cool air doesn't get into the bedrooms very easily, combined with the slat windows not sealing so some of the cool air leaks out of the house. However, the house was very clean and comfortable, and we really enjoyed our stay there.

The space was exactly as described—clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully stocked with everything I needed. I would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area!

Beautiful house with tasteful furnishing. A bit cramped if the tv is pulled out because the tv is set up on a rollable cabinet but still very beautiful and comfortable place to use as base for exploring the volcano national park. Host is friendly and communicative.

Place was exactly as described. No issues finding once address was provided. Hint: take the "southern" way in/out of the neighborhood, even if longer. Quiet area; but not all that private with homes on either side. You'll certainly see some wild pigs, if not entire families. Lots of other wildlife nearby to hear. Zero water supply issues, but pressure is on the low side. Top loading HE washer and regular drier available and work great! TV plays nice with NTFS formatted USB devices. Kitchen and bath both well supplied. No built in heat or AC; wasn't an issue for us. Both bedrooms have a faux fireplace wall heater and a portable unit is available. Place is rural, which I actively sought out. Just be aware of where you'll be in relation to where you want to go. Volcanoes National Park is only ~20 minutes, but Kona is 2+ hours.

Great quiet place with easy access to Hilo and Volcanoes National Park. Enjoyed the lanai with a table to dine out. This is a duplex so other side of the house might be rented to other people. It was a perfect place for our family to use as a base to explore the north of the island.

Home away from home. We loved how super clean and spacious it was. The ocean view was beautiful against the beautifully inspiring garden. (I want to make my backyard like this). Coming home each day took my breath away. The backyard has a table to eat on and wooden loungers to take a nice nap on and a bunch of Adirondack chairs to sit on. Dusty and Luba are amazing hosts with great recommendations such as the Maku’u farmers market, food spots and the Mt Kilauea volcano (we were so lucky to see the eruption on May 25th). We BBQ’d on their grill and cooked breakfast every morning all while enjoying the extremely relaxing ambiance. The showers were very clean with a rain shower head and handheld. At night the little frogs do croak but it literally puts you to sleep. Having the washer and dryer came in super handy for all our beach days. I wish this was my home! We would love definitely stay again.

If I could give more than 5 stars I would. This place felt like home in a very quiet and beautiful neighborhood. It was so perfect for our needs. 2 hours to South Point area/Green Sand beach. Less than an hour to Volcano National Park. Half hour to Pahoa beaches and geothermal ponds. Super clean, well stocked with amenities, very responsive hosts. I would absolutely stay here again.

The two reasons to book this room is it's location, 5 mins drive to volcano national Park and cottage is really beautiful and cozy. our stay was pleasant and is kid friendly. Everything was as advertised and high quality amenities from towel to body wash . We loved our short stay here.

Edmee and Brandy have created a warm and inviting home away from home in their cottage. It is tastefully decorated, the bed is comfortable, and is fully equipped, especially the kitchen. Nice touches are the washer/dryer for cleanup after hiking Volcano National Park, which is 2 miles away, and the gas firepit on the deck, which made sitting out there cozy and comfortable. Mary and I stayed 5 nights, thoroughly enjoyed our visit, and would give the cottage 10 stars if we could.

Peaceful and relaxing in a serene secluded jungle setting. Between the hot tub and fireplace, this house left me feeling rejuvenated after my stay. The house is clean and new, yet still feels cozy. You'll always remember the great places you've stayed on your travels and for me this is one of them.

I’ve stayed in many airbnbs and this is by far the best home I’ve stayed in. It’s so unique and beautifully laid out. And it’s tucked away in such a beautiful patch of giant ferns. Kent is an excellent host. Very communicative and incredibly accommodating. He also puts so many personal touches in the house to welcome you. Fresh flowers, beautiful bouquets, and all the amenities you’ll need and more. The house is 5 minutes from the National park, which made for easy trips in and easy excuses to go back and spend time on the deck amongst the ferns. I can’t recommend this place more highly. My great luck in staying at sweet spots has continued, although I’m familiar with the area and knew what I was looking for. Hooray for Hideaway RainForest’s accuracy about their lovely, comfortable, well-appointed home. Such a fab spot I’ll even be recommending it to my ex-husband and his wife for their upcoming trip. My husband and I really enjoyed our stay here! The house was absolutely wonderful, and just as described! Located close to Hilo, which was very nice. We loved the spacious front porch and yard outside. It was perfect for drinking coffee in the morning. The portable AC unit allowed for a cooler bedroom at night, which was great for us! We’d recommend staying here to any couple looking for a secluded spot on the Big Island!

This house was an absolutely beautiful. Perfect combination between modern and Hawaiiana. If you’re looking for a peaceful stay close to Volcano National Park, this is the spot. We look forward to returning 💕
