Beautiful home, well maintained. Host was very proactive and even let us know that the area the home was had a power outage prior to our arrival which fortunately resolved by the time we arrived. Pool was a great temperature for dipping into after laying in the sun. Spacious living area. We would happily stay there again.

Michael’s place is very accommodating with all the amenities described. My family travelled from several different locations to be together here and it all worked perfectly. I was bummed that the other visiting guests not staying there could not use the pool, but I understand the liability and respect the rules. All in all, it was a wonderful trip!

The view alone is worth the price! Everything was so lush and beautiful! We felt like we were in our very own private resort. We enjoyed the spacious house itself and the outdoor area. The pool was great and the beds were super comfortable! This was a great base to explore the entire Big Island of Hawaii! I would recommend this home to anyone! Just book it already!

We enjoyed the private and peaceful location and it worked out well for our brief stay on that side of the island with a reasonable drive to some areas that were just too far from the west side of the island. The bed was comfortable and we appreciated the AC as my husband gets hot and sweaty at night without it. The frogs were loud at night but the fan helped cover the noise so we appreciated it. We didn't get the chance to meet our hosts but had a great stay overall and would happily stay again in the future.

Beautiful home on the peaceful Hamakua Coast. Our family enjoyed a wonderful and quiet staycation - the pool was delightful and temp was just right with the cool ocean breeze. Kitchen was stocked with basic essentials making cooking easy. Very comfortable sleep spaces - cool breeze at night with windows open. Loved every minute! Suzy was very friendly and responsive. The grounds were so beautiful - lots of flowers and fruits surrounding us. I highly recommend this home as your next getaway. I will stay here again. Thank you Suzy and Peter!

Very large 2 bedroom, 2 bath, 2 decks off the beaten path. Linens and robes were very soft, and slippers included. I appreciated the quintet of coffee brewing methods: French press, drip, percolator, and pour over.

From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed into a clean, beautifully maintained property that felt like a luxury slice of paradise. The setting was incredibly quiet and peaceful with perfect weather that made our stay feel even more magical. The home is beautifully designed with an amazing pool and jacuzzi, modern fixtures, luxurious bidets in the bathrooms, a convenient washer/dryer and fully furnished kitchen that made it easy to whip up a quick pizza or have a complete family dinner. Chase was extremely responsive and made sure everything was seamless from check-in to check-out. His attention to detail and hospitality took the experience to the next level. We're beyond impressed and are already looking forward to returning. This place is not just home away from home —it’s an experience that we highly recommend.

We had a few hiccups at the beginning, and Vanessa was extremely responsive and took care of all our needs immediately. The home was beautiful and spacious and had all the extras we needed! Would 100% recommend to anyone to stay at this location, it was amazing!

Absolutely beautiful home, exactly as the photos show and as described. Located in a lovely neighborhood and a great place to unplug and unwind. Spotty cell service (as expected for the location) but WiFi was excellent and allowed us to make calls if needed, plus there is a landline if needed. All amenities a traveler could need, including beach towels, toiletries, and spices/cooking supplies. Loved the nightlife (literal nightlife like frogs singing the song of their people at night). We felt safe and comfortable in this luxurious hideaway! Would definitely stay again! Yvette was also a great cohost who offered lots of tips for restaurants and sightseeing! We found them very useful and her local insight made our trip even better!

Beautiful house with tasteful furnishing. A bit cramped if the tv is pulled out because the tv is set up on a rollable cabinet but still very beautiful and comfortable place to use as base for exploring the volcano national park. Host is friendly and communicative.

Place was exactly as described. No issues finding once address was provided. Hint: take the "southern" way in/out of the neighborhood, even if longer. Quiet area; but not all that private with homes on either side. You'll certainly see some wild pigs, if not entire families. Lots of other wildlife nearby to hear. Zero water supply issues, but pressure is on the low side. Top loading HE washer and regular drier available and work great! TV plays nice with NTFS formatted USB devices. Kitchen and bath both well supplied. No built in heat or AC; wasn't an issue for us. Both bedrooms have a faux fireplace wall heater and a portable unit is available. Place is rural, which I actively sought out. Just be aware of where you'll be in relation to where you want to go. Volcanoes National Park is only ~20 minutes, but Kona is 2+ hours.

My great luck in staying at sweet spots has continued, although I’m familiar with the area and knew what I was looking for. Hooray for Hideaway RainForest’s accuracy about their lovely, comfortable, well-appointed home. Such a fab spot I’ll even be recommending it to my ex-husband and his wife for their upcoming trip. Great quiet place with easy access to Hilo and Volcanoes National Park. Enjoyed the lanai with a table to dine out. This is a duplex so other side of the house might be rented to other people. It was a perfect place for our family to use as a base to explore the north of the island.

If you love being surrounded with nature you will love this cute cottage. Not for from the main road for ease to Volcanos Park but was as if I was in another world. Very clean, cozy & comfortable. Loved the patio for chillin. Wish I could have stayed longer.

Awesome place! Great location, well appointed, comfortable beds. Stove and record player were nice additions. It’s in the forest so lots of birds, we brought earplugs which I’d recommend. Roof has an aperture so gets light when sun comes up. Fantastic place.

Peaceful and relaxing in a serene secluded jungle setting. Between the hot tub and fireplace, this house left me feeling rejuvenated after my stay. The house is clean and new, yet still feels cozy. You'll always remember the great places you've stayed on your travels and for me this is one of them.

we stayed at Kent's place during our visit of the volcano park and hilo area. The house is just perfect and beyond our expectations. it is 5 min drive to the park and in a quiet and beautiful area. we spent quite a lot of time just relaxing in the house. It feels like camping in rainforest, but in a well equipped house with super comfortable beds. Wish we could stay longer and would love to stay here when we visit again.

Excellent house and hosts were super responsive. Can’t beat the view. It’s a quiet hood and things are a bit of a drive but great place to relax after a day of activities.

Wow! We couldn't contain our joy and excitement when we stepped onto this property. The backyard and lanai are absolutely amazing! We felt like we were living in a jungle. I loved the open window facing the lush greenery and all the natural sounds that came with it. I must say, the house was immaculately clean. It was so comfortable, so peaceful—just perfect. Cindy went out of her way to help us with some extra requests and shared some great tips. This place truly exceeded our expectations.

We really appreciated how close this home is to the entrance to the National Park. The house was very clean and and the beds and linens were comfortable. Our children appreciated the books and toys. The house had everything we needed for a lovely stay.

The photos don't do this place justice. It's such a beautiful & cozy home. We stayed here twice while on the island and am so glad we did. The beds are comfy, house is spotless, the neighborhood is quiet and convenient to town. Derrick was an awesome and super friendly host. We would definitely stay here again whenever we're back on island! Don't hesitate to stay here.
