The Maynard Log Cabin was erected by a homesteader after the civil war. We have moved and restored it and made it available for rent. It is off the grid, but it has a complete functioning kitchen, wood stove and sitting room downstairs. There are two antique beds with new mattresses upstairs. There is no electricity but the cabin is furnished with kerosene lanterns. The bathroom facilities consist of wash basins and outhouse. The cabin is surrounded by 40 acres of woods and meadows.

we have stayed at many AirBnBs but this one was one of my favorites. We loved the architecture of the home and the view of the lake was amazing. We loved exploring Alexandria and coming back in the evens to relax and do some fishing. It was a great stay.

The Broodio had everything I needed, the bed is super comfy and the setting is peaceful and quiet. Audrey has a summer kitchen that I would have loved to use, but I was there just one night.
