Pet-friendly vacation rentals in Monteverde

Johanna's place was amazing. You are a 5-10 minute to the center of the town and all the restaurants and shopping. However, the place feels isolated like you are within the Cloud Forest. Not have direct access to the kitchen via the hallway from the bedrooms was exactly the way it should be when you are wanted to be as much outside as possible. Johanna was a wonderful host and very responsive with my many questions.

Great little chalet with an amazing sunroom to enjoy the view, it’s perfectly cozy for the cloud forest, I could have sat in there all day! It’s not too far from town, just enough to feel very remote, also very safe. We saw the volcano from the lookout up the street! The kitchen had everything we could possibly need. We will definitely return on our next visit.

The house is beautiful! It was beyond expectations. We were impressed by the rooms, kitchen and bathrooms. The area is super quiet. Excellent cleanliness and beautiful decor. And we love Bunny's visit.

The place was beautiful and very well kept. Everything was clean, comfortable, and I felt completely safe during my stay. That said, it does get very windy at night, and the trees hitting the tin roof made it tough to get a solid night's sleep. The noise was pretty loud and constant through the night. Of course, I understand the host can’t control the wind, but I was really hoping for a more restful sleep while I was there. Overall, it’s a lovely place, just something to keep in mind if you’re a light sleeper.

The Nest Chalet is a very private accommodation with a wonderful bird's eye view of the cloud forest and surrounding mountains. It was terrific to both see the sunset and sunrise from the loft bedroom and deck. Ever was a terrific communicator, and he provided excellent directions and helpful advice. His property also included many terrific amenities such as laundry and air conditioning. We suggest visiting Ever's soda (Tico y Rico) right in the heart of Monteverde for yummy Costa Rican cuisine and a 10% discount for his guests. We highly recommend this Airbnb!

We had such a wonderful time staying at the Flower House. Juan our host was quick to respond kind and friendly. The house is clean, comfortable and spacious. 2 bedrooms, large kitchen fully equipped with all you need and much more. A full living room to relax. large dining table and chairs. A very comfortable king size bed and queen bed in the other bedroom. Washer and dryer. Lots of extra blankets, towels and heaters. The house is about 5 min away from restaurants and cafes. A few min away from the cloud forest reserve. The property have private beautiful trails. And its walking distance to an amazing lookout overseeing the mountains all the way to the ocean. We got to see on the property amazing birds, animals butterflies and insects. The house is nestle in a beautiful area away from the road and the town but still minutes away by car to the heart of Santa Elena. So its peaceful and quiet. It suited all our needs and more! I can say it was one of our best stays in CR.

Private, homey, and relaxing vibes while still being super convenient and close to supermarkets and shops! Roomey and spacious interior. Balcony was refreshing! Would recommend to anyone who visits Monteverde :)

We loved out stay at Moni's house. Mónika was a wonderful host. She and her husband Toni met us on arrival and provided great information. Toni arranged a night walk tour with transportation for us which was awesome. It is a beautiful home. There is a nice view from the balcony. One can see the ocean in the distance. There are some things that one should expect in Costa Rica beyond anyone's control. The map from the AirBnB listing shows only the approximate location which is always the case with AirBnB everywhere not just Costa Rica. This is quite understandable I think. The instructions when subsequently provided however, shows the exact location and it is easy to find. We drove right up to the driveway. It is nice to be near Monteverde but away from the Hullabaloo downtown. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

It is a beautiful country with incredible property. Everyone was so kind. We thank you for a memorable time. We were sad to leave. Anyone wanting a destination with or without kids needs to see this resort. So much to see and do.

We spent four amazing days at Venado Valley Ranch. From the very beginning, we felt at home thanks to the warm welcome from Sandra. There is so much to do and experience here. Our children, aged 9 and 11, were constantly entertained by all the animals and activities. Ronald guided us on a beautiful tour through the river to the waterfall, where we had a wonderful swim at this unique spot. The horseback ride with the whole family through the mountains was fantastic. Milking the cows and making sugarcane juice were also great experiences. Breakfast and dinner were prepared by Damaris – what delicious meals she made! We truly enjoyed every bite. The accommodation itself is really special. Our kids even had their own room, where Smokey the house cat came to keep them company. They said these were the best days of the entire vacation. But beyond the location, it’s the people who made it truly special. Thank you so much for taking such good care of us, Sandra, Ronald, and Damaris!

We had a wonderful stay. The place is more beautiful than the pictures depicted. Very peaceful and private. We swam in the pool every day. It was ideal for our toddler. Lots of animals and wildlife surrounding the cottage. Comfortable bedding. Full kitchen. Close to everything in town. Great value. Would stay here again.

Awesome facility! It was exactly as described. Very quiet. very private, and very safe. The pool is definitely what stood out the most. It was very relaxing. Norwin thought of everything! He was very helpful. We saw a lot of hummingbirds. The bedroom was ample size with plenty of storage. We enjoyed our stay there immensely and look forward to returning.

This property was perfect. We rented both houses on the property and could not have been happier. Each house perfectly blended a luxury home, with Costa Rica's beautiful natural surroundings. The beds and furniture were comfortable, and there were may places to gather and relax. The property is unbelievable, we enjoyed daily walks around different areas. They have a walking path along the water that was amazing! The team was amazing, and super attentive. We rented the 4-wheelers and Wave runners, and they took great care of us and we had a blast! Lastly, every recommendation we tried from their suggestions was phenomenal! This was a trip we will always remember!

private and just as pictured. you're really in the jungle here and feel secluded in a good way. the pool was covered and a great option. we also appreciated having an option for breakfast/lunch food to order and brought directly to the door. this is a solid 15 minute drive from the town center of la fortuna, and a bit closer to 30 minutes to most of the hot spring resorts if you're planning to do a day pass. also this was mentioned by others but it really is quite difficult to not have bugs in the room seemingly all through Costa Rica and this was the case for this room as well.

Truly, this is a wonderful stay at this cozy and secluded location. From the moment I arrived, the warm hospitality and thoughtful service stood out—everything was well-prepared and communication was seamless. The space itself was spotless, tastefully decorated, and incredibly comfortable. It had everything I needed to feel right at home. One of the highlights was definitely the view—absolutely stunning and perfect to wake up to or unwind with at the end of the day. If you're looking for peace, quiet, and a place to truly relax and disconnect, this is it.

I can’t describe how much we loved Jason’s place. The outdoor space was beautiful and so fun to hang up with family. The whimsical decor in each room left me smiling. I have stayed in BnBs abroad and around the US and none have come close to bringing this special.

This house is so much better than the listing even shows! It's 2 full private bedrooms and 2 full baths (only one is shown in the photos!). It has a full upstairs loft area with EXTRA double bed (not shown in photos). The place is clean and quiet and has a full kitchen with all amenities and large washer/dryer. It's walkable to town and many wonderful restaurants and shops, and is right next to some treetop lodges that are full of wildlife (we saw troops of monkeys twice right next to the house)! It's a steal at the cost and is a great home base to explore Monteverde. The only disadvantages are that there's really no usable outdoor space and no view from inside, and the kitchen supplies are limited. We had to buy a standing fan for the bedroom (no A/C, but this is true everywhere in Monteverde) but it was unseasonably hot when we were there. We would highly recommend this place!

Glauco was responsive and helpful at every turn and everything was as described. Close to many of the attractions of the cloud forest including night hikes, waterfalls, shopping, and restaurants.

Very good accommodation, well-equipped, close to Monteverde Park. Nice little bakery below the accommodation. Ramiro is very responsive if there is a problem, perfect!

We loved the vibe of this cabin & both rooms. My favorite part was definitely the owner Olger and his adorable German Shepard. Olger was extremely responsive, providing extra towels and anything we needed at all times, including a guide that provided us with all tour recommendations & we were able to message both of them anytime as well for convenience. FYI that the listed host Alex is not as responsive through chat but Olger was the one we connected with when we first arrived and called the host number. He met us at the gas station down the street to help bring us to the location. Also pro tip that if you keep the water pressure low, it’s sufficiently warm but does not get hot, which is standard for the type of heater there was. Super close to everything, including a grocery store, great restaurants, and the cloud forest. Would def recommend.

Edith was a wonderful host and was very welcoming. We enjoyed visiting with her! Her animals and family were sweet too. We walked into town at least twice a day from Airbnb, you don’t have to worry about finding a parking spot as you leave you car secure inside the gated yard. We would definitely stay here again as we want to explore this area more.

Jenny's place was awesome! very close to the main road and very close to restaurants, shops and to many attractions in Monteverde. Jenny is a fantastic host. Communication was great, she gave us great recommendations , and the breakfast she prepares and serves is a great way to start the day. The house was spacious for our family of 5. We highly recommend it.
