Vacation rentals with a kayak in Monroe County

Donkeytown was wonderful. We used it for home base for a 3 night stay for an IU Graduation. It was a smidge far from the back and forth to IU but it definitely was worth it! The grounds were beautiful, we wandered among the donkeys, sheep and goats. We fished in a few different ponds. Our 10 year old caught a 4lb large mouth bass. The staff was always around if we needed them. There were 12 of us and it could have easily fit 4-6 more. They provided fresh eggs every morning, the fridge and pantry was relatively stocked. You didn’t have to bring the basics like you do at other places. If you are going to stay here, just make sure you give yourself a lot of downtime to sit on the farm, read, drink coffee, wine, listen to all the different birds, sit by the fire pit and try the cool golf cart/4 wheeler! The 12 people in our group all loved it!! Thanks to Tonya and everyone at Donkeytown.

Stayed there for 2 weeks. The place was super nice and clean. Had everything I needed. Austin was a great host, really responsive, nice and helpful. I was in the middle of a move so I had a lot of boxes and he even let me keep them in his garage. Per the listing, the common places were supposed to be shared, but I had complete privacy for all my stay! Had a great experience staying here. Would definitely recommend staying here!

House was very spacious, beds were nice and comfy. Lake was beautiful and the fish were biting. Had a wonderful stay, highly recommend.

The house was very spacious and easily accommodated our large group while in the area for a family wedding. The house is in a very remote location and a little tricky to find in the dark, but the quality interior and furnishings of the house were top notch. Strong sulphur smell to the water was a downside, but we were only there a few days so we could handle it. If we were there for a relaxing getaway, the place offered a lot of things to do- fishing, canoeing, hiking, piano, board games.

Chad’s home was very clean and easy to find. He was responsive to my questions. The home was nicely decorated. The beds were very comfy. The outdoor space was inviting and comfortable.

Aaron’s place was a cozy retreat nestled in a peaceful cove. Perfect for relaxing enjoying nature. Aaron’s place included a fire table and torches that was great for relaxing and repelling the bugs on the lake! In addition the kayaks and pedal boat made for some fun times on the water as well as a nice floating dock for fishing! During our stay it rained on and off but the spacious back deck with tons of seating made for peaceful times enjoying the sounds of the rain and the lake! Overal was totally satisfied with our stay!!

We needed a place to stay for our son’s birthday and this cabin getaway was perfect! It had everything we needed and everything we wanted to do — like relax in the hot tub, roast hotdogs on the fire and get settled in with a movie and arcade game. (I think the arcade game was my son’s favorite part!) Definitely looking to stay here again when we come back to the area. :)

would have thought it had a washer and dryer , but that's really my only complaint . I highly recommend for a romantic get away , or one with friends traveling on mcs , place would easily sleep 3 couples comfortably and even a couple rug rats . lake us private from what I read , likely cannot fish without some kind of permit , would love to go back if fishing and kayaking were available .

Jonah’s place was great! We had the most relaxing time. The house is exactly as advertised, if not better. It’s beautiful and peaceful. It was very easy to baby-proof for our 18 month old. It was so easy to get into both Bloomington and Indianapolis for various activities we had planned. It was also fun to just hang out at the house. The steam shower was amazing. The laundry machines were helpful to have, especially with a toddler, and there was detergent and fabric softener available. There were plenty of towels, as well as extra blankets, which was nice as it was unseasonably chilly. We would absolutely recommend this place to anyone and would love to stay again.

My husband and I had a wonderful and relaxing stay here. This beautiful place and area is amazing! We loved everything about our stay. My husband caught a few fish, we hiked one of the trails and enjoyed the hot tub as well. We loved it so much here that we didn't want to leave. We plan on coming back again for sure!
