This is an old, renovated milk barn on a working farm. Both of the sleeping spaces are lofts that require climbing stabilized, vertical wooden ladders. There is a wood stove, running water, kitchen, living room & bathroom.
“A really nice stay. It was nice to wake up to the sound of so many birds and watch the hummingbirds and bees go after the trumpet vine out front. Everyone made me feel welcome including the cats and dogs who live on the property. I did stay during a cool period in the spring and I found I was a little chilly. It definitely reminded me of the structure’s former purpose. I only mention it to suggest bringing your slippers. I certainly was glad I remembered my pair. And when it did warm up and get a little humid I appreciated how it stayed cool inside. I wish I could have stayed another night or two to take advantage of the nearby hiking but it wasn’t in the cards this trip.”
Victorian Haven is located near the Shawangunk Mountains that extends for over 20 miles and reaches 2,200 feet in height at Sam's point, the highest elevation on the ridge. In addition, the Wallkill River provides unspoiled and picturesque spots for hiking, fishing and/or picnics. Gardiner has a beautiful rail trail that follows the path of the 1860's railroad and provides a great opportunity to hike, bike or ski.
“Victorian Haven - quiet, cozy, and quaint! Such an adorable hidden gem in a small community. Had everything needed from morning coffee to dinner making! The small intimate touches like the selection of coffee with multiple options for creamer and added notes and information about the place and local areas of interest made it stand out! The wildlife was amazing - seeing 50+ deer just hanging out and the many birds on/near the river. Perfect place to stay while seeing a concert and just wanting to get away for the weekend. Definitely recommend for a couple trying to unwind and relax!”

“We loved our time at Chris and Michelle's place. We stayed long term and were so happy that we did. Chris and Michelle are super friendly, highly communicative, and make great neighbors. The tiny house had everything we needed for a comfortable stay, and the location could not be better. We were close to town, but also to amazing walking trails and hikes. We also felt that we were able to reduce our carbon footprint during the stay in the tiny house by saving water through the use of the compostable toilet. It was the perfect place to spend Earth Month! The only thing we didn't like was having to leave. We wish we could have stayed through the summer.”
