A great weekend get away! If you’re looking for secluded, off the grid, and QUIET, this is your spot. You will be surrounded by nothing but the woods and yourself here. The cabin it self was very clean. The wood stove heats it up FAST so be aware to not over do it. Over all 10/10 would recommend and stay again. Ps it can be a bit confusing getting there but as long as you follow your location using the satellite option on iPhones you can find the cabin on the satellite view and follow the roads easily that way.

OMG - we LOVED IT HERE and literally started talking about when we were coming back immediately when we left. Melissa and Ryan are super communicative and the directions make a private, secluded place really easy to find. The location is great because you’re 10 mins from Big Bay (smaller town, a few places to eat, moderate cell service) and 20 mins from Marquette (bigger town, better service) and ridiculously close to amazing hikes and nature. But with all the hikes, overlooks, etc so close, all we wanted to do was hang at Melissa and Ryan’s sugar shack. It felt like the best parts of camping, but even better. The site is so secluded, so it’s like camping with no neighboring sites and with a ridiculously cozy, sweet house with big windows, heat, great books and the ability to cook, sleep and relax. We bought some of Ryan’s beautiful ceramics and camp wood and fresh eggs on site. Thank you, Melissa and Ryan, for sharing with us!

Perfect place to catch up on my sleep. I tried a local hotel the day before and was not able to sleep due to road noise. I was surprised at how quiet it was here since it is a shared house. The view from the window basically puts you in the lake. Arrival directions were clear and everything was just like the photos. I did miss not having a blow dryer after my shower. I would have stayed the day before if the reservation window was still open when I was searching for a place to stay. I appreciated the water and snacks available! I would recommend and I will probably stay again.

This place was a perfect getaway spot! The home is clean and the decor is very cute. Large kitchen with all amenities necessary to cook meals while there. Beds more firm than I’m used to, but still very comfortable and cozy. Comfy blankets, sheets, and pillows also. Location was fantastic and rustic with few neighbors. Private access to beautiful little lake with dock and a variety of boats to explore with. Flies and mosquitos could be intense at times, so we really enjoyed relaxing outside within the protections of the screened in porch. Very peaceful and relaxing trip, thanks to this gem. We would definitely stay here again in the future.
