Beautiful stay, friendly host who is helpful and proactive. Highly recommend for a peaceful getaway with beautiful surroundings and views of the Vaal river.

We had a wonderful stay because the place was exactly as advertised. The caretaker( Tishash) was there to assist and was welcoming, although there were a few things that did not meet my expectations.... Like finding cockroaches at the place, the awful smell of the water, and also the gravel road to get to the place was abit of the distance with lots of potholes.

we are so happy to have booked in here and spent valuable time with family. we are certainly going to book in again know the future. thank you fir a truly ama ing experience

An Excellent Stay! Our stay at Maria's place was fantastic! Maria is an exceptional communicator, always clear and responsive. She was also incredibly accommodating with our various requests, which we greatly appreciated. The apartment itself is in a superb location and beautifully laid out. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here and would highly recommend it!

Beautiful farmhouse,spacious,clean and perfect for a group of people. Mellisa and her husband are friendly and very kind hosts. Their house felt like a home and I will definitely book with them in the future.

Great weekend, first time visiting the Vaal and could not have asked for a better location. The private place on the river made for good peaceful morning coffee and some private reading time. Absolutely amazing holiday. Will definitely be back.

Tony’s place absolutely exceeded my expectations! The space was even bigger than it looked in the photos, which was such a pleasant surprise. It was incredibly cozy and welcoming, the perfect spot for a relaxing weekend getaway. The view of the dam was absolutely stunning—especially during sunset. We spent each evening just soaking it all in. Beautiful, peaceful, and exactly what we needed. Highly recommend!

If you are looking for private, peaceful, quiet and a stunning show off of nature , You definitely have to visit Porcupine Place. The hosts are extremely friendly and make you feel so comfortable . There is so much to do for the kiddies if you have very outdoorsy kids like mine! My family did not want to leave ! We even got home made fresh bread from Andre! The best I've had in a while! Would definitely recommend this place to anyone who needs to reboot! Thank you Linda and Nicky and Andre for your hospitality and kindness towarfs my family!

The place was exceptionally relaxing and clean. Very good for a getaway relaxing break. Mari and the lady who manages the place were very attentive and non obtrusive. The house was cleaned and prepared daily. Would definitely recommend. We had a lovely time

The Host Paul allowed us to have our very small intimate wedding there.. it was the best night of my whole life and the propert is superb😍. I would not trade that night and the overall feel for anything else. I have to add that the staff member was walking around our guests and for most park of the wedding sat in the main houses' bar on his phone watching videos (the guest toilet is right next to the bar btw).. i eventually asked him around 23h00 when our guests left to please leave our house , it was quite awkward having him sit there watching videos while we all stand around the kitchen/ bar and all talking about how the wedding and night went.

My family and I had the time of our lives. We were 16 in total and were accommodated comfortably. We got more than what we expected as the place looks so much better in person! The scenery was incredible, the sunset was spectacular. We will definitely come back again. If you’re planning to make your way here, please use a big car, the road is really bad.

What a great find! Margie was an excellent host! Very good with communication and extremely accommodating. The property is very well maintained and the house was very homely with 2 great entertainment areas, a swimming pool for the summer, and as an alternate, multiple fireplaces for a snug winter getaway accompanied with an oxtail potjie and glühwein. The kitchen was very well stocked with all the appliances / utensils you'll need, bathrooms modern with clean extra floor towers for water run off , luxury soaps and shower jells, and bedrooms were well laid out. There's a pool table, dart board and several board games to keep everyone entertained. Attention to detail included, a welcome bottle of wine, informative booklet, chocolates on the beds, packs of tissues for all the occupants, and chalk for the pool queues. There is a short drive to the marina where club access is included, with picnicking spots and watercraft launching facilities available. Highly recommended!!!

What a wonderful venue especially as we could moor our boat and JetSki after a fun day’s activities on the river. The house had everything we needed.

This was our second visit to Frans place and it was as if we returned to family. Fran and Rick are extremely accommodating superhosts and we will definitely recommend them and their place without any reservations. Frans is our go to home away from home. We are completely spoilt at the lodge and we are looking forward to our upcoming 3rd visit. Thank you for sharing your place with us Fran, we love you guys, see you soon.

Beautiful place on the dam, was so easy to walk down and get on with some fishing. Lovely spot, the bedrooms are separated and have their own bath/shower and toilet with a communal kitchen and lounge. The TV has been updated and the dstv was a bonus for the kids. A homely environment with the requisite requirements. Thanks Wendy.
