Vacation rentals with a kayak in McGaheysville

What a wonderful house, host, and location! We went with another family, with three “kids” ranging from 8 to 18. It was a relaxing, and also vibrant weekend. The house was very comfortable, and there was lots to do for the younger group, who spent time in the game room and walked to the nearby pool. We found the house to be so relaxing; we enjoyed the sauna and fire pit. The neighborhood, while it doesn’t have sidewalks, is very quiet and easy to explore. There were many restaurants nearby, and we hope to come back to see the other sites like the caverns and garden maze, etc. The Shenandoah Valley is stunning. We all highly recommend Flower on the Mountain, and look forward to hopefully visiting for a longer time next year.

This is our second year here for Memorial Day weekend and it was just as great as the first! Hap and Jennie are communicative and responsive to any questions we had. We enjoyed kayaking and boating on the river, hiking and relaxing on the porch and by the fire. The accommodations are comfortable and nice for our family (3 kids and 4 adults and a dog). The kitchen is the most well stocked air bnb I have ever seen! We cannot wait to return

We enjoyed our stay at this beautiful home. This house had every amenity you could imagine. Very clean, private, easy access, comfortable with luxurious bedding, great showers, arcade games, and a great hot tub!

Wonderful weekend stay right on the river. Easy access to the hazel river, Shenandoah national park, as well as some short trails right on the property. Spectacular views from every window and multiple decks. It’s easy to sit and read a book while listening to the peaceful sounds. This property is beautiful with everything you need to feel right at home. It felt more like a home than a rental property. It was well decorated and somewhere you actually want to spend time vs drop your stuff and head out. We enjoyed our stay, and plan to return.

Mother Nature had different plans for my fly fishing trip. There was a tree down across the driveway when we arrived from all the rain and wind that hit the area the day we arrived but James had a crew out that night to start the clean up. They worked a couple of days to make sure any possible danger was eliminated. We spent a lot of time on the screened in porch watching the river. The hot tub was awesome as well. We actually got a kick out of watching the logs, trees, and other debris floating down a very high and fast moving river. Maybe next time I’ll get to break out the fly rod. Skyline drive was beautiful as always.

Beautiful and charming home! The setting is peaceful and bucolic, from the creek in the back to the cows & horses across the road. My family was very comfortable there and had a great time. It was easy to get to JMU for graduation!

Gary was courteous, responsive and flexible during our time leading up and during our stay. My family and I enjoyed the amenities as well and peaceful seclusion the property brought during Mother’s Day weekend. Willing to help every step of the way, we have no issues with the property and are hopeful to rebook at the same venue for other occasions as well. Highly recommend!

Shiloh Lodge, which my friends and I have renamed, Chateau Shiloh, was everything we could have hope for and more. Sadly, it rained 3 of our 5 days but it didn’t matter. This home was so comfortable and welcoming and relaxing; we didn’t care we were rained in. There were puzzles and games and books and great streaming services to keep us occupied. However, we barely used those amenities. We spent those days cooking and talking and sitting in the rocking chairs looking out the sliding glass doors and watched and listened to the rain, watched the wild life and of course, looked out at the beautiful mountains and the river. If you need a place of peace of mind, body, and spirit renewal, Shiloh Lodge is the place. We thank you so much, Diana , for such a wonderful experience. Take care.

If you like the Mother Nature this is the place for you. Awesome house, comfortable & absolutely privacy. Our family was enjoyed it.

This place was amazing and had fantastic views! We had such a great stay, the set up is perfect to have fun as well as relax!

We had an amazing time at Keith's place. The deck and docks are awesome spaces to hang out, and we really enjoyed spending time on the water with the paddle boards and canoe. The cottage has everything you need with plenty of spaces to gather, and is even nicer than the pictures. Keith is a great host and we hope to stay again later this summer.

Wow I don’t know where to start. We first chose this beautiful place for two weeks and couldn’t help but extend another weeks stay. This home is positioned perfectly away from others with the river easily accessible behind the property. My partner and I found so many nearby trails to explore including an abundance of nearby farms to see the local animals. The Mountain View’s surrounding the area were breathe taking! About a mile from the property were some very tasty restaurants. We are from Jersey and Sal’s Italian made us feel right at home. There were stores under 15 minutes away allowing hassle free shopping while escaping back to the secluded cabin. Kinga was beyond helpful during our stay. She responds within a reasonable time and was very attentive. We will absolutely return to this getaway cabin again. You will get the best of every world at this beautiful home.🩷

Super flexible hosts, easy check in, memorable stay

This is a great lodge for families and large groups. The pictures are a perfect representation of the cabin, its amenities and surroundings. It was clean and well equipped with great WiFi, games for the kids, and working TVs/cable. The hot tub was functional and clean. Inside, the beds were comfortable, linens and towels were good quality and clean, and the kitchen was well stocked with supplies.

Stepping Stone was the perfect spot for a quiet getaway! The cabin was very clean and instructions to get in were easy. The kitchen was stocked with all the essentials for cooking, and the beds were comfy! The best part is waking up and enjoying a cup of coffee by the river and ending the evening with a fire. The hot tub was clean and felt great after our hike. I would definitely come back and/recommend Angela’s place to friends and family!

I’ve stayed in this place more than once and I’ll do it again every time i have a chance! This Cabin is really beautiful from top to bottom! I personally enjoy cooking and this kitchen was such a great choice! They have it all! Also, if you’re looking for a place to relax and be at peace, this is your go to Airbnb! Trust me, your expectations will be met,.. another thing I like about it, is the location and landscape! It’s like out of a dream, specially during Spring season! Thanks Kelli! Staying at Mark’s cabin was a splendid experience and quite possibly the best part of our visit to Virginia. Mark was responsive to any questions or concerns that we had. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen was clean and tidy, and all of the appliances were easy to use. It was a relaxing getaway for us, mainly due to how quickly Mark worked to address our concerns. The cabin was in a beautiful and quiet place, and the view from the porch was magnificent. Would highly recommend Mark’s cabin to anyone who wants to visit the Shenandoah area!

One of the most beautiful places we’ve ever stayed! Tom and Margo have maintained a gorgeous cabin and outdoor space. Plenty of amenities and a great stretch of river for fishing, kayaking, wading, and overall relaxing. Super comfy and cozy relaxing by the fire and then coming in to chill in the cabin’s living room. Kitchen was perfect for coffee and all 3 meals. Can’t say enough good things, Hope to visit again soon!!

We stayed for a weekend at cabin and had a wonderful time. Very quiet and private setting at end of road and on top of a mountain. Felt right at home with amenities and everything you need not to cook and relax. One of our best home renting experiences.

What a peaceful, well-kept home along the river! We enjoyed using the canoe and kayaks to explore the area, then relax on the back porch and listen all the different bird calls. Even when it rained, we sat outside - then moved inside to play games. The house had so many nice touches and such comfy beds that we felt like we were at a spa! Beautiful country roads to Luray Caverns and hikes in the Shenandoahs! Trust the write up when it says to do your shopping before arriving! Definitely worth a return trip.
