The Copper at Currant Ridge - A Large Log Home!

Our Alaskan log house is perfect for a small family, couple or two couples traveling together. There is a fully set up kitchen for cooking including a refrigerator, electricity 24/7, gas grill on the large deck and a roomy private bathroom. The house has one bedroom, queen bed and a queen size sleeper sofa in the living room area. Each guest house is screened by natural vegetation for privacy but retains beautiful view to the surrounding mountains.

Wrangell Mountains are a magical place and so is Sweet Creek B&B. Turn right at mile 58.5 McCarthy Road, and follow the blue Sweet Creek B&B signs for 5 miles down a meandering country road, about 15 minutes. It's easy to find us. Drive right up. Wifi is available in McCarthy town, 6 miles away. Verizon works and your cellphone hotspot, otherwise, no Wifi. If you want to be closer to McCarthy, please book a different establishment.

This new 18x20 Alaska cabin is near McCarthy airport. Complete kitchen and tiled walk-in shower. The best view by far of Mt. Blackburn, Ice Fall, and the Kennicott Mine right from the deck. You won't want to get off the deck. We offer vehicle transportation during your visit for a small fee (gas). Usually $10 for two days. We offer breakfast and light lunches. Bottled water too.

A wonderful rustic experience! McCarthy is a charming town where you feel like you have stepped back in time. The Blackburn cabins perfectly pair with the atmosphere of McCarthy and Kennecott. The cabins were clean and cozy. The host was top tier with being welcoming and accommodating. This was a great way to be connected with nature with all the needed amenities.

Very good! Clean, quiet, and comfortable. Livvi, Mark and their staff were very nice and helpful. Walking down to McCarthy was a bit long actually (20 min), and we didn't realize bathroom were outdoor and shared. But I recommend anyway!

Location! Location! Location! Very beautiful property located only a few minutes from the McCarthy foot bridge. The tent was beautiful and located a few hundred feet from the river. The sound of the flowing water was great for sleeping. Common kitchen, wash area and toilet were very clean. This place is a gem and we will come back. Denise communicated well with me from the time of booking. She is a great host!

The Gilahina at Currant Ridge - Luxury & Comfort!

What a fantastic location! We stayed in the Gilahina, and it was perfect. Loved the deck. It was great to have a grill, and a full sized fridge. (Never seen a propane powered refrigerator before, but they’re probably not that uncommon here.) The ride in from Chitna is is quite an adventure. You really don’t realize how long 60 miles takes when you’re averaging 25 miles per hour! Plan for 2 hours. From the office you can rent spikes to attach to your shoes which are fantastic for trekking out onto the glacier. The property is wonderful, our cabin was clean and extremely comfortable. I couldn’t recommend the property, the proprietors or the location more. All were superb!

Blackburn cabins are in a great location to town for food, the museum, and the store. Any tour we booked was able to pick us up at the end of the drive which was convenient. They make the best possible of an outhouse shower and bathroom situation. I would 100% stay here again!
