MataMata

RebeccaRating, 5 stars1 week ago
We flew over to NZ for a wedding and was luckily enough to book this property with Marina. The property was more than spacious for a group of 6. Could not fault the house as it was beautiful, clean and stocked with all possible amenities. It sits within the town of Matamata and was very accessible. Marina is a beautiful host, who was very responsive and flexible. We absolutely recommend this stay and hope you get to enjoy it like we have. Thanks again 😊

Country Retreat - 2km to Hobbiton!

CatherineRating, 5 stars3 months ago
My son and I stayed here for a few days as a base for checking out Hobbiton, glowworms, and hiking, and it was just perfect. The guest house is a nice size -- cozy but feels spacious thanks to the expansive view. The AC works well, but we mostly preferred to keep the windows open and get a breeze. Sheryl was welcoming and kind, and she stocked the little kitchenette with all kinds of breakfast foods plus a baked homemade treat, all of which we enjoyed thoroughly. She also generously loaned me a cell phone charger for the duration of the stay when mine died. I'd happily stay again if I make it back to NZ -- partly to appreciate that view some more, and partly because it would be fun to hang out with Sheryl and Greg.
