Eight miles from the Indiana University of Pennsylvania, half an hour from Amish country, and a 60-minute drive from Pittsburgh, our home offers a peaceful retreat. PLEASE NOTE: the house is accessed via a rough country driveway. We drive all kinds of vehicles up the hill, but we do not advise bringing your Lamborghini To be clear, this home is regularly used for our family fellowship and is not appropriate for parties.

Relax with the whole family at this peaceful wooded retreat! This spacious 2-story 3-bedroom house is on a quiet lane with plenty of space from our neighbors. If you love seeing wildlife, deer and turkeys are a regular sight as well as the occasional fox and black bear. If you have pets, there is plenty of space for them to run around! Well-stocked kitchen! Pets and larger groups are welcome! There is a $10/guest/day charge after the first 2 guests and the pet fee is $25 (flat rate).

Both beds are in the same large room much like a hotel room. It has a cork floor and a king size bed and full size futon couch/bed with a gel foam mattress cover. Simple but elegant decor. This place was magical. The home is so private and peaceful. We saw deer off the back porch more than a few times. Bruce & Cora were wonderful hosts. The house was stocked with eggs, cereal, coffee, juice etc. What a nice touch...especially when it snowed and we decided not to go into town for food one night. Bruce even used his personal plow to scrape the driveway so we wouldn't have any problems with the snow or ice. Highly recommend this home. This is a great place to stay for the Groundhog Festival. Close enough to all the fun but far enought away from all the crowds.

I was looking for a getaway to spend quality time with my sons without distractions or somewhere to rush off too. Melissa's geodome provided us with exactly that. A peaceful quiet that had us enjoying nature, our own individual solitude, and each others company. Although, I picked a rainy weekend it was still a wonderful stay.

An art gallery hosts a variety of framed artworks displayed along the white walls. Centered are wooden display tables featuring art prints and local crafts. Round tables with black chairs offer seating. Soft lighting enhances the space, while large windows allow natural light to fill the area.

We loved our stay at Jenica’s beautiful Craftsman home. It is a very warm, inviting, spacious environment. If you are looking for a quiet, serene, peaceful place to stay, you can’t do much better than this. I would encourage anyone vacationing in the Punxsutawney area to skip the hotels and stay at this nice oasis of tranquility instead. It has everything you need in terms of amenities for a fantastic weekend stay. The place was clean, inviting, and free of distractions. We were close by for all the festivities of Groundhog Day. I appreciated the local info provided by our host as well. Hope to be back someday!

Sara is an excellent host. She responds quickly to any questions. Her place is just as described and very comfortable. The house has a great layout and the beds are super comfy. My dog enjoyed the trails and the baby bunnies (from a distance). The closeness to Indiana (restaurants, shopping) is convenient. I did an easy day trip to Pittsburgh. Would definitely recommend this place if visiting IUP.
