Gotene is a small community with good offerings, however, no disco/nightclub. Travelling by car to Vänern and Kinnekulle takes only 15-20 minutes.

Äppelgården Holiday Home is a small cosy house, situated between the outside of the small village Ullervad and a forest. The river Tidan flows at 200mtr. from the house. The house is suitable for 6 adults (1 double bed is in the guesthouse) or 4 adults and 2 children. The house is available only on a weekly basis. Mariestad area offers a lot of opportunities for hiking, mountain biking, canoeing and interesting places to visit.
