Farmstead Cottage in Hudson Valley

This cozy cottage along with two barns was once part of a a working farm. Hand-hewn original oak post and beam construction is exposed; it gives the cottage and its cathedral ceilings, a light drenched airy ambience. Equipped with a full kitchen, one gets the country rustic atmosphere without forfeiting modern conveniences. The reclaimed wood siding in the bedroom catches the early morning light reflections of the sunrise. Hand-crafted details abound, the cabinetry, hand-made glass, and photography add accents to the decor. The bucolic surroundings are a great place for respite. One can relax in our perennial gardens or sit in the shade of the one hundred year old wooden barn amongst the hummingbirds and barn swallows. At night sit on our deck and enjoy a starry night or moon shadows without street-lighting to impede the night sky. Located in Stone Ridge, we are only minutes away from the historic village center which is convenient for restaurants, groceries, wine, and farm fresh products. At the same time, we are located on a quiet country road. Our landscape is peppered with horse farms, corn fields and even an alpaca farm! Did you know that the New York Senate resided in Stone Ridge back in the early days for a short bout after the burning of Kingston? Nestled between the breathtaking views of the Shawangunk Ridge and the Catskill Mountains; numerous hiking, biking, world- renowned rock climbing, horse riding, fly-fishing and kayaking possibilities abound. Farm to table, antiques, local produce and fruit picking are amongst only a few other great activities. Winter sports include ice climbing, cross country and downhill skiing. Parking and Wifi are included. A stocked kitchen, a ceiling fan, wireless bluetooth speakers, and hairdryer are additional amenities. Outdoor amenities include a charcoal barbeque, a bistro table and chairs, and fresh herbs to pick when in season! We are registered in Ulster County as a vacation rental and a 2% County Occupancy Tax is included in the price.
