Wonderful cottage in the Masai Mara, savanna views

The wilderness just outside the fence and views for miles around! Our wonderful autonomous cottage is located in the Masai Mara, on the Olchorro Oirowua wildlife conservancy. It is positioned at the edge of a vast savanna, guaranteeing you’ll see wildlife everyday, even before breakfast! No luxury resort isolating bubble here: with traditional Masai families (and their cows) living nearby, and a traditional Masai village 800m away, the wildlife and cultural activities on offer are countless!

Located just a 15 minute drive from the Sekenani gate of the Maasai Mara National Reserve, our fully solar powered one bedroom container house is set in its own small private garden within our farm (Kobi Farm) near Nkoilale. It comprises of an open plan lounge and self catering kitchen, double bedroom, bathroom and outside seating areas. The house sleeps 2 guests in a queen size bed, we can also provide a garden tent with camp beds and beddings for a maximum of 2 additional guests.

Die Style Lodge ist Teil des MEC (Masai Eduction Center) und ist eine Hotelschule für junge Masai aus der Region. Wir hatten einen wundervollen Aufenthalt, die Anlage ist wirklich wunderschön und die Zimmer sind liebevoll gestaltet. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und bemüht, aber man merkt gelegentlich, dass es noch in der Ausbildung ist, was wir allerdings als liebenswert empfunden haben. Die Airbnb-Präsenz der Lodge ist leider noch nicht ideal, weswegen es sich lohnt vorab mit Steve oder Ardi zu schreiben um die Details zu klären. Die Lage ist nur 20 Autominuten vom Ololoolo-Gate entfernt (Mara Triangle), was für den Preis wirklich gut ist.

The hotel was everything you could ask for. It had a big room. Shower was lovely and hot. The bed was large and verycomfortable with a great mosquito net. Job was so quick to respond and organised an amazing one day safari for us with a great Masai guide and driver and a great vehicle.

Staying here is unforgetable. The tents are beautiful and the location is stunning, overlooking a river with hippos and crocodiles. The staff is kind incredibly helpful: they showed us wildlife and assisted us with a car fix. The food is delicious and affordable. 100% recommended!

We stayed in both houses for the weekend with a large group. Hosts Oscar and Sylvia were super flexible in accomoding additional friends that wanted to camp, even last minute. Beautiful surroundings of the greater Mara area with wildlife around. Chef Richard made great food for us exactly as we had asked for and was very timely. They went to great lengths providing our large group with an mess tent so we could enjoy the outdoors even during the rain :) The staff was all super friendly and everything was organised well. Communication with Oscar was very quick and helpful. Would most definitely reccomend to other groups wanting to explore the northern mara area. I wish we had more time to do some local activities. Hope to came back sometime soon! Philip
