Vacation rentals with beach access in Makahuena Point

We wanted a space in the middle of Kauai with nearby beach, restaurants, and only 90 minute drive as far as you can go to either the Tunnels Beach or Polihale. We mostly traveled to the less touristy beaches during the day and spent the evenings swinging on the porch swings looking at the beach between the AirBNB and the Hyatt each evening. Great space for 2 with separate bedroom and living room for couples that get up at 2 different times and a washer dryer so we could bring clean clothes home. Great kitchen with all the upgraded supplies. 2 walkable coffee shops and restaurants less than a mile away. We stayed at the Four Seasons Maui the week before and although we really, really enjoyed the understated luxury, we liked Kauai and this space better. Thanks for a great week!

Great condo, quiet location yet close to beaches and restaurants. Very comfortable, everything you need for relaxing time. Charles was very responsive to any of our questions. I highly recommend this property for a great vacation spot. We will definitely be back. Kauai is an amazing place to visit, you won't want to leave.

We’ve stayed in Baby’s Beach area and Koloa before but never at Kuhio Shores. We really enjoyed location and the unit! The stove wasn’t working properly so that was a bummer as it disrupted a couple meals we planned to make but they were very responsive and came to unit to assess situation. We would stay here again.

We only stayed one night, got there pretty late and left very early in the morning. Place was perfect for our needs, easy and flexible check-in, clean, great location. I would stay again if in Kauai.

This place was even better than the pictures!!! We loved it here. 10 steps out the door and you can see the ocean. Can walk to shipwreck beach ... place was Clean and had a very comfy bed! The AC in the bedroom was amazing. If we ever come back to Kauai we would love to stay here again! Thanks kathy

I honestly can’t think of a better location to stay in Kauai. Kapaa is ideally located for traveling either north or south and a short distance from Lihue. The condo is right on the beach across a short walkway and the view is spectacular. We loved the sound of the waves in the night. Also, it’s next to the pool and a 2 minute walk from restaurants and stores. Josie was super responsive to our questions and everything went smoothly. Two enthusiastic thumbs up!

An incredible, private and comfortable detached Ohana in a beautiful neighborhood. Conveniently located and walkable to numerous shops, restaurants and the ocean (beaches). We met the owners-sweet, cheery and kind people. Thank you both!! Shaka to you both!! We would definitely stay again in the future. :-) Aloha & Mahalo!!

We really enjoyed our 10 nights at Devaki’s beautiful house. It was quiet and peaceful. We never closed the windows or blinds and listening to the rain at night was wonderful. Waking up at daybreak to that view was really nice. The location is perfect and we hope to return soon.

We absolutely loved this home. It was perfect for our family of five. The lanai was our favorite place to hang out after a long active day out exploring Kauai. I highly recommend. You won’t be disappointed.

We stayed our last night in Kauai at Jake's place, and it was nice to have somewhere very close to the beach while still feeling very private and peaceful. The only noises heard were the chickens. They have air conditioning as well, which made for a comfortable sleeping situation after having spent the last week in an un-air conditioned space that at times felt too warm and humid to be comfortable. We didn't make use of the kitchen, but it was a nice space. Not sure about the pans/dishes but the sitting area was comfortable. The bathrooms were nice a clean, and the beds were comfortable. We did book this last minute, and so we felt that the rate was well worth the amenities and comfort.

Our family felt right at home, thanks to Donna! It was comfortable and clean, and really ended up being exactly how she described! We will definitely reach out to Donna next time we're coming to Kauai!

We loved staying at Natalie’s place! Only wish we could have stayed longer- which we hope to next time. We decided last minute to extend our time near Hanalei Bay and Natalie was so responsive and made that happen for our family so that we could enjoy our favorite area on Kauai. This house is beautifully renovated and has everything you need. We loved the neighborhood and proximity to everything in town. Our kids loved the back yard and all the fun stuff in garage that you need for the beach or a ride through the beautiful Princeville neighborhood. Beds were very comfortable and linens,towels, and all the details were above expectations.

Kurt was a great host! Clear communication and easy instructions to follow. The whole process was seamless and stress free. They have instructions waiting for you when you arrived. If it wasn’t for their tip on how single lane bridges work, I would have been so confused. Beautiful views and great location. Will definitely book again when I make another trip to Kauai.

We had a great time here! We loved the location next to the Grand Hyatt and all that they have to offer. You can walk to shipwreck beach 5-10 min. Geralyn was very responsive to any questions we had during our stay. it was hard for us to find a place last minute that would accommodate 7 guests. this place worked out great it's just the right amount of beds. if you are looking to stay in Poipu/Koloa this is a great option. We loved all the beach gear available for use in the garage. Very convenient. Hope to be back again sometime in the future.

Rochelle's place was perfect for what we needed. Walking distance to two different beaches, the fitness club, and several resorts and restaurants. The A/C was a nice feature during the warm days. They don't provide coffee, so make sure to bring your own coffee grounds (or buy some at the Kauai Coffee Plantation). Other than that, the kitchen is adequately stocked with just about anything you could need to cook meals. The complex also has very nice BBQs available if you choose to grill your meal. Also, recommend the Lava Restaurant next to the beach at the Sheraton Resort. Good food and excellent view of the ocean. They also provide boogie boards, chairs, umbrellas, snorkel equipment and towels. Nice place. We'd definitely come back again when in Kauai.

It was a great, clean stay here and Pete was super proactive, communicative, and friendly. It looked just like the images and had everything we needed for a neighbor island visit.

Excellent place to stay in Poipu area. Walking distance from the Kukuiula and Poipu shopping areas. This place is very spacious, has a nice lanai with tropical view of the stream that flows through the complex. The shower is really nice. The host Jayne is very helpful and quick to respond if you need anything.

The view!! We watched turtles from the lanai, and beautiful sunrises. And the surroundings were dark enough to see a gorgeous night sky when it was clear. The condo was spacious and clean. Bed was super comfortable, as was the living room furniture. Kitchen had everything we needed. Beach chairs and umbrellas provided. Easy walk to several beaches, short drive to several others. Walked over to the Beach House for happy hour. Close to restaurants and shops. Really enjoyed our stay!

The best part of staying in the Poipu Crater is the QUIET! And the lush flora. It’s like waking up in the forest. :-) We loved hanging out on the secluded deck listening to the birds. We had everything we needed - well stocked kitchen, coolers and stuff for the beach, enough towels, etc. The neighbors were super nice and helpful! The host was very responsive. These are townhomes with 2 homes sharing one wall. With a dedicated parking spot close by. This unit is the last in a row, so it is extra secluded. From the deck you can see the tennis court (but nobody was ever using it). The pool is not far (across the parking lot), and people weren’t loud or rowdy; everyone seems respectful of the surroundings. It was an 8 (?) minute walk to Poipu Beach. (The walk up and out of the crater is a bit steep - totally doable but after a long day at the beach you’d rather drive than walk up it! LOL) The drive to downtown Kōloa is only a few minutes. Highly recommend!

This place was perfect. It had everything I needed and more. Christopher gave lots of communication and left me with no questions to ask. The place was comfortable, roomie and quiet. My only suggestion is to bring ear plugs for the early morning rooster calls if you are a light sleeper; although you will run into that issue anywhere you stay on the island.

Sara's place was unbelievably breathtaking. The location was perfect to get around to all the local eateries. The views of the sunset were breathtaking. I cannot wait to plan another trip and will definietely be booking this place again.
