Family-friendly vacation rentals in Mad River

The house was perfect for us. We were a group of 8 and everyone had a comfortable place to sleep, plenty of space to move around, park our cars and sit while relaxing throughout the house. Ryan was so helpful and quick to respond if we had any questions. Lovely house, hope I get to return.

Not sure if it was the mattress, the sheets and quilt, the pillows, the Vermont woods, Vermont fresh air, or the rain hitting the roof… maybe all of it… but, my husband and I have not slept so well in… maybe EVER! Rob’s home is super comfy and dog friendly. The hot tub is a nice feature and works wonderfully. If you are looking for a quiet, peaceful location for your visit, this hits all the marks. Sitting outside with your morning coffee is a treat. If weather doesn’t cooperate, recommend sitting in the den in front of the picture window. Our old dog truly appreciated exploring the fenced yard, and we loved allowing him off off-leash. Great place to stay!

Beautiful home, as described. Nice personal touches with towels and mini shampoo/conditioner. Kitchen is large and has most every appliance you would want. Caretaker does come in twice per day but is friendly and unobtrusive. You do need AWD/4WD to access the house.

We had a lovely and relaxing stay. The cabin and surrounding property are beautiful, and Evangelyn was a wonderful host. If you’re looking for a peaceful, “home away from home” getaway, this is just the place.

Great stay at Jen’s beautiful chalet. Easy to communicate with and well equipped with many kitchen supplies and all the needed towels, linens, hairdryers, and a thoughtful welcome package. Only about 15 mins from the mountain and 10 mins to town. Thanks!

Home away from home! Susan was a fantastic host. She was very responsive and communicated quickly. This home was perfect for our group of 6 and it was extremely cozy! This was our first time in Vermont and it definitely exceeded all of our expectations. If you looking for a pleasant place to stay with amazing views, look no further than this adorable Airbnb! We skied in Stowe, toured the Ben and Jerry’s ice cream factory down the road and enjoyed some live music at the ZenBarn. I would highly recommend this property! We hope to visit again soon :)

Comfortable and cute lodging. Lynn has thought of so many touches to enhance the retreat experience. The surroundings are lush and there are several places to sit or walk and be immersed in nature. The hot tub and cold plunge are divine. Lynn is a responsive host. We hope to return!

Home now after a couple days at the cabin. Feeling fully rested and can’t express enough how much we needed this getaway. Ago and Marty go above and beyond to make you feel comfortable and provide you with everything you could need to relax and have a great time. We will be coming back here. Hopefully soon.

The apartment was impeccably, clean! Beautiful views. Amanda was fantastic in helping me find my way around to where I needed to go. Highly recommend it.

We loved our stay at Gerette'S place! The cabin a very cozy, it was perfect for my boyfriend and I and our two dogs. The stairs are very steep and could be tricky for some dogs to navigate, one of ours did them no problem but the other was content to stay downstairs. We enjoyed the hiking trails on the property and did not expect the added bonus of getting to take the canoe around the pond, it was such a treat! We will definitely come stay again!

Great little cabin. My wife and I had an amazing time. We really enjoyed both decks and the fire pit by the pond. We will be back for sure. It’s located in between some great Vermont towns.

Philips place was literally perfect! The location, the awesome house filled with super cool art, the cozy feel of the house, the amazing outdoor area we had available to us all made this a perfect experience! Philip was great with communications and I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a perfect place to stay in this area of VT. My dad and I were up there for a quick 2 day stay. We'll both be returning with our significant others to vacation there and will absolutely be coming here in the future whenever we travel to this area!!!

Great little cabin for a weekend stay for my wife and I and our dog. Easy access to town for necessities and close to several local breweries. Would definitely stay here again.

Claudia’s cabin was exactly as described- a private little cabin in the woods. The house was adorable, cozy, and close enough to Stowe for skiing (about 25 mins to base). The only minor issues I had were the use of the beautiful soaking tub (unusable due to water pressure/temperature), the temperature of the first floor bathroom( cold), and the amount of dog hair throughout. Disclaimer, I travel with my non-shedding dog so I’m not used to seeing dog hair on my clothing, and perhaps it was the previous renter who had a long haired shedding dog, but it was everywhere- couch, beds, cozy chairs, floor. Came home with hair covered clothing. There’s a sign by the door that says “no outfit is complete without dog hair”! These issues were not enough to complain to Claudia about, because as I mentioned - minor- everything else was spot on. She even had snacks in the fridge. Do bring extra toilet paper and paper towels if you book. I couldn’t find any. Otherwise, great stay.

My friends and I had a great stay at Jennifer’s home. We wanted a winter escape from the city and got exactly that! Jennifer was super friendly and communicative and left no questions unanswered. The home was so welcoming and cozy and had everything we needed for a fun weekend.

We loved staying at this little red sugar shack. The area of Vermont is beautiful, the location of this farm is high in the hills and very peaceful. We highly recommend staying here, a wonderful experience! There are two ponds with crystal clear water suitable for swimming. We will certainly stay here again, thank you!

My husband and I stayed here to do a few days of spring skiing at Sugarbush. The location is perfect, a short walk to the slopes when there's snow. Two-minute drive to resort if snow is sparse. Sugarbush is a huge resort and has many options for all skills of skiing. The condo was spotless and had a full kitchen with plenty of pots and pans, etc. It was very comfortable and also had a selection of books and games to choose from. Host was very responsive and gave perfect instructions. Thank you!

Chad was an incredible host! He was extremely accommodating with any requests we had. The views from his place are breath-taking! We enjoyed snowshoeing from the backyard onto trails in the woods. I fell in love with his cat who visited daily! He kept the driveway plowed and salted in a timely fashion. We enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend his place!

We had a great stay at William’s. The location was beautiful and the house was comfortable. We had a great mix of day-tripping and relaxing with a view. We also ran into William and he was very helpful and friendly.

Extremely nice cabin, very recently renovated. The owner has a keen eye for organization, everything is neatly placed where it should be. Linens are clean, beds were super comfortable. Amazing stay, thank you Cathy

This place was perfect for our family of three for a long weekend. The room had everything we needed and the views of the village from the balcony were amazing. Lots to do in the village and plenty more just a short drive down the road to Stowe. We’d love to come back in the summer when there are more outdoor activities available.

Amazing start in Burlington VT. Only 15 min from Burlington and not too far from Stowe!

Absolutely wonderful stay! As a family of five, we couldn't have asked for a better place. The unit was incredibly spacious, comfortable, and had such a warm, homey feel—it truly felt like a home away from home. The mountain view from the living room window was beautiful, a perfect backdrop for our mornings and evenings. Jeff, the host was exceptional—extremely responsive, thoughtful, and helpful throughout our stay. Every question or request was handled quickly and kindly, which made our experience stress-free and enjoyable. We had some wifi issues which took time to resolve but Jeff helped and made sure it is taken care of. The apartment was impressively well-equipped with everything we needed, clearly a lot of care went into preparing the space for guests. The location was perfect for us— surrounded by beautiful trails that we explored as a family. If you are into skiing, the ski tracks are short drive away. It was the ideal base for both adventure and relaxation. Highly recommended

Kristin was super easy to get in touch with. The house is beautiful and super clean. They provided us with towels and soap, it felt like a hotel. Plenty of space. The pool wasn’t available but the jacuzzi was SO nice. You can see deer from you window, it was magical.
