Stayed here as a group of six and 1 dog. Very cozy and lots of space for everyone. Beautiful mountain views!

Dj was responsive and the home was beautiful, large, clean, and had everything you could need. Towels were soft. Bathroom was clean. Beds were clean and bedrooms had fans (absolutely great) and an amazing location

The cottage was very nice. It was clean and comfortable. We had many amenities, more than we expected. The neighborhood was quiet, and close to town. If we were ever to visit Franklin again, we would definitely stay at the Windmill Cottage.

The home is beautiful and was in pristine condition. Beautiful location with the farm animals across the road. We truly enjoyed our stay there.

Mario's place is a true mountain hideaway. Rustic and comfy with enough bathrooms for a large family. Big living room to gather in, and spacey enough to get some time to yourself if needed. The place is well-stocked and clean. The vibe is clutter free and relaxed, homey and spacious. Woodsy with lots of birdsong and no neighbors within sight of the house except way down the mountain far away. There wasn't really anything we needed that we didn't find...extra blankets and pillows, toilet paper, paper towels, shampoo, etc. There was even a chalk marker to mark our initials on our water bottles. Really can't say enough great things about this stay, and don't have anything negative to say. Mario is an excellent host and really flexible, with very few rules other than to respect his property. Highly recommend all the way around!

This is the third time we’ve stayed at Marsha’s with friends. It’s perfect & she’s a wonderful host! Her home is lovely, comfortable and in a great location. We walk to town because we enjoy walking but some might find it a tad far. Marsha provides everything one needs for a delightful stay. The house has a terrific, large kitchen which makes for a great gathering area, especially for breakfast. The sunroom is beautiful as well. The bedrooms and baths are very nice. We have our cocktail hour there. The outdoor deck, accessible from kitchen, is a lovely spot for that morning coffee, to greet the day. Can’t say enough about how much we always enjoy Marsha’s home and her attention to details. We look forward to our next visit there.

5 stars!!! Laura’s place is lovely, immaculate and very clean, with modern decor and was very well stocked - had everything we needed. Laura’s home sits in a lovely peaceful area very close to town. Beds were super comfy. The home was exactly as described. Host was responsive and kind. We appreciated the fenced yard for our pups. Wifi was great. We hope to return very soon. Loved everything about Laura’s place.

Amazing views...sitting on the porch at anytime of the day was a great place to be. Well stocked, spacious layout and about an hour to the park made this the perfect place for our annual family trip. Will recommend to others!

Our stay at the cabin was absolutely perfect! The cabin itself was gorgeous—spotlessly clean, beautifully decorated, and fully stocked with everything we needed. It was the ideal spot for our family to spend the holidays. The surrounding towns were charming and full of amazing places to visit. We especially loved exploring the nearby waterfalls and hiking trails, which added so much adventure and beauty to our trip. This getaway was everything we hoped for and more. We can’t wait to return!

Wonderful! The original place we booked was canceled due to frozen pipes, leaving us without a place to stay. Thankfully, we found this place and could not have been happier! Beautiful views, great deck, and overall a wonderful space! Also, Stewart was very responsive and helpful. Highly recommend!

We’ve been coming to this part of NC for years and years and have stayed at lots of vacation rentals, this one is top of our list. It was well appointed, cozy, and met our expectations. We travel with young children and it was a safe space for them and the sound was well insulated during bed time- which is a big deal. We had everything we needed. Would definitely return!

The owners were incredibly responsive and answered all our questions before our arrival. Once we stepped onto the property, we didn’t need to reach out again—every little detail had already been thoughtfully taken care of. The river that runs alongside the property adds the perfect touch of serenity, with the soothing sound of flowing water making the porch an ideal place to relax. The “man cave” in the garage is packed with games and full of charm—there’s something for everyone! And if that’s not enough, the living room features a full cabinet of board games for even more entertainment. We were drawn to the area by the Highlands Road Gem Show at 1602 Highlands Road, Franklin, NC. This public show is a real highlight in both May and July—always worth attending! Don’t miss Dry Falls—an absolute must-see! We’d definitely stay here again. This home had everything we needed for a truly lovely trip!

Kerri’s place was just as described, super nice and clean with no issues whatsoever. She was extremely responsive and helpful when messaged. House is very nicely put together and has everything you’ll need. Great experience overall.

We’ve been Airbnb for over 5 years, and have had wonderful experiences. This home stands out to me as a step above any place we’ve stayed, especially allowing our pups to join us. The owners were so helpful and had everything and more! The indoor and outdoor furniture, including the beds were very comfortable. Their attention to detail was even more than we could ever have imagined. There were a few things that stood out…. There’s cushioning around the legs of the bed to prevent stubbed toes (what a novel idea. I will be doing that to my beds at home); they have most sizes of ziplock bags (that’s something that I finally remembered to pack); they have power strips with 3 in one charging cables in at least 3 locations of the living space, and one on each side of the bed in each room. If there were a rating higher than 5, this is the home that would receive it. We are so grateful Rhonda and Donnie allowed us to stay in their home.

Heather’s place was a great retreat! The cabin was well appointed with interesting decor and a comfortable bed. She had everything one needs for a restful stay from the snacks in the cupboard to the drinks in the fridge. The shower had good water pressure with hot water. Plenty of clean, soft towels were set out ready for you. The landscape had to be my favorite! She takes great pride in offering a variety of flowering plants in the front garden. The moss garden was my favorite! It reminded me of my childhood and playing in the woods. The moss was always my carpet in my fairy home.😁 There are lots of seating outside to accommodate your nature soaking. It rained when we were there and so we did not use the fire chimney but it was a nice feature given the right time. We definitely be back to the Locust Log Cabin whenever we want a quick getaway. This home is a perfect getaway. It is off the beaten path, yet only 8 or 9 minutes from Highlands. It is well equipped for just about all of your needs and then some. The host was very responsive and even reached out to us to see how our first night went. I can’t recommend it enough. The only problem that we encountered was the strength of wifi, which obviously affects your streaming ability. With an AT&T and a Verizon phone, both had no signal while we were there. Beyond that, put your phone down and enjoy what you came to enjoy. You won’t lose all contact with civilization, but I would not recommend it for a business related retreat or a week/weekend where broadband access is crucial. Other than that, It is probably one of the most well furnished and well equipped Airbnb’s I have stayed in. Everything was clean, comfortable, and very cozy. It was a perfect couple of days for our honeymoon, and we are already looking forward to returning. PSA: Driving an SUV or a truck is advisable.

Such a cute little place in the mountains! Cozy, well stocked, clean, and comfortable. It was a great home base to explore Franklin and Highlands...we had a lovely stay!

The best weekend I’ve had in a long time!

We had a great stay!!! We loved the Airbnb, and the area was amazing. We got to hang out in the hot tub, go out on hikes, to the farmers market, and dinner all in a decently close proximity. Jake and the caregiver Mandy were great in communication, we really enjoyed our stay. Would definitely recommend!
