Beachfront vacation rentals in Mackinac County

This was our third year at the Captain’s cabin. The cabin is right on the water which is a long sandbar perfect for kids or pets. The public boat ramp is a short walk away and perfectly maintained. St. Ignace is close by as are Sault Ste. Marie and other attractions. Unlike many rentals, the cabin has absolutely everything a visitor would need in the kitchen. Moreover, our dog is not just allowed but welcomed. Highly recommend!

Would recommend this house ! Clean, everything we needed , Extra garage space was nice. Beds were very comfortable.

The location was priceless , beautiful log home overlooking Lake Huron. The wildlife was amazing . Watching the Bald Eagles and deer were our favorites. Made lots of memories with great family and friends. We will definitely return.

Located in Melody Beach Cottages, this place is worth the price when you watch sunrise on the first morning with your cup of coffee overlooking Lake Huron. The cottage is well designed and cozy, with a deck and walk out beach access. The check in and check out instructions are very clear. Overall, this was a 5-star experience, and we will be booking again on our next trip up north!

We had a great stay. Wifi is satellite and is really bad. AT&T removed their closest cell tower also so that didn’t help service any when traveling. We were warned ahead about the service so we weren’t really surprised. The only negative thing I have is the couch. When you sit on it, you sink. Very hard to get out of. Otherwise, stay was great. We will definitely return.

Great location, we really enjoyed our stay. The huge fireplace was a plus, as well as the beach access.

My daughter and her husband said they loved the lake access. Hosts made sure parking was available for our group. My husband enjoyed being able to fish by only walking a bit. Would recommend if looking for some place to enjoy by the lakeside.

We absolutely loved staying at the Blue Heron House! Our daughter loved playing on the beach, shallow and perfect for small children! The house was stocked with everything we needed, lots of baby/children items and outdoor toys included which made our stay so much easier! It is in a very nice and friendly area, giving you some privacy but also close enough to many tourist attractions. It was the perfect place to stay during our UP vacation!

Tom and Kitty were excellent! The island is gorgeous and the beach area is perfect. The water does not get too deep which was wonderful for the kids and my sanity. Perfect spot for a family getaway! They allowed us to use their kayaks, canoe and swimming platform. Tom also put out children at play signs which was such a thoughtful touch. All together an unforgettable family experience. Just lovely!

Amazing place to stay! Can’t wait to go back! It was such a pleasure to meet host Judy and hear her tell of her family’s fascinating history of this gorgeous property on Lake Michigan. She is quick to answer any questions you may have…extremely accommodating. While she stays in a smaller abode onsite, the environment still feels private and secluded. The views, indescribable! Mother Nature speaks to you constantly, sometimes in a whisper and other times as a roar. But remember, you will be in the Wilderness Park so be prepared (as Judy says) for a pesky pest or two. We really only experienced them (biting black flies) one evening while collecting rocks along the beach. We found our natural oils repellent worked best. The cottage interior is a delightful eclectic French Country, comfy and cozy!! Every corner is decorated with such uniqueness and interesting flair. There are plenty of areas of the home to gather together or to sit quietly in peace. It is truly a VERY special place!! 💖

Jed was amazing. The Airbnb was exactly what we were looking for! Gorgeous lake view for morning coffee. You have all you need for a few days stay. Jed was kind, responsive and the Airbnb was absolutely breathtaking. The views and the atmosphere and quiet scenery is what we had hoped for and we received. The gentle rustle of leaves in the breeze, the soft chirping of birds, and the distant sound of a flowing stream created a harmonious backdrop. Each moment spent in this serene environment felt like a gift, a chance to disconnect from the chaos of everyday life. As the sun began to set, casting a warm golden hue over the landscape, we found ourselves immersed in the beauty surrounding us, savoring every second of our peaceful retreat. The air was crisp and fresh, filling our lungs with a sense of renewal and calm. We were stopping to appreciate the delicate scenery and the vibrant colors of the sunset. We really enjoyed our stay at Eli’s place. We had great communication with him from beginning to end. The binder on the dining room table was very thorough with instructions & dining & attraction ideas. The home was very comfortable & clean, & we loved that it has its own beach. Each night we enjoyed the beautiful sunsets. The great fire pit made for nice campfires. I would highly recommend this Airbnb. It is a very quiet, peaceful getaway spot!

Beautiful views from the home with lots of amenities for a relaxing weekend on the lake. Also a short distance from multiple restaurants and parks. Would definitely stay here again!

We absolutely love staying here! The house is very clean and has all of the amenities of home. The beach is beautiful and you can’t beat the sunrises! This was our second time staying here and we’ll be back next year!

Lisa was a very responsive host. We had everything we needed for a family of 4 with 4 separate bedrooms, 2 full baths, and a mudroom with laundry. We easily could have had twice as many guests and still felt comfortable. The best part about this place is the privacy, seclusion, and beach along Lake Michigan just steps away. The views of lake Michigan were incredible and 3 of the 4 bedrooms and living room all had amazing window views of the lake especially waking up in the morning. While the weather was a little cool during our stay, we still enjoyed hanging out on the beach and had a latenight campfire. We are already planning another trip back during warmer summer months. We also enjoyed fishing at nearby Brevort Lake and caught a ton of perch and even some smallmouth bass and walleye. We also made a day trip to Mackinac Island and the ferry in St. Ignace was only a short 20 minute drive away. This spot was perfect for our Memorial Day long weekend family getaway.

We had a great stay with our family the week before Labor Day! The house was homey and comfortable, even without air conditioning, which I realized after booking. Luckily, with the windows open, the temperature never went above 72 degrees, and we remained perfectly comfortable throughout. The location is peaceful, though the beach is mucky and not the best for swimming. However, we enjoyed using the kayaks and stand-up paddle boards, which added a lot of fun to our stay. One note for taller guests: I’m 6’5” and found myself hitting my head on the low door jambs in the northern wing of the house nearly every day. We did note a few minor issues privately after our stay, like the grill catching fire due to greasy flavorizer bars and a lightbulb in the sunroom breaking off in our hands. Hopefully, those will be addressed for future guests. Despite these, we’d definitely stay again!

Stacey was wonderful! She answered all of my questions prior to our stay. The kitchen was truly a fully stocked kitchen. First time I have not had to bring things from home to be able to cook for our large family. Loved all of the recommendations she gave us for things to do and places to eat. The property was beautiful and very relaxing.

If you enjoy a peaceful place by the lake away from all the traffic this is a great place. 5-10 minutes from St. Ignace and Mackinaw City.

The home was very private and the lake view was astonishingly beautiful. We had a group of 11 (8 adults and 3 children) staying in the house for two nights and it was generally comfortable. We spent some time on the private beach and but did not get into the water. The kitchen was well stocked and we were able to find pretty much anything we needed there. There is a gas grill in the backyard that I tried to use but it was very slow to heat up so we ended up using the oven instead. There is fire pit but firewood was not provided and so we had to get some from outside. Our overall experience was positive and would like to stay here again in the future

It was just what we thought. Holiday weekend for our first trip. This was a convenient spot to come back to and relax. Very clean, comfortable. 4 Adults were not crowded. Owner responsive for a few questions. Happy with stay.

Great place to stay right on the lake. Beautiful views from the home. We stayed in the winter, but it was still very pretty to look out. The house was clean and as described in the listing. Great communication!
