Marten’s place was by far our favourite air bnb stay to date! The location was almost too good to be true. The tent is set in the middle of a nature reserve and you really feel like you are the only people for miles. It was beautiful, peaceful and very romantic. Watching the sun set over the dunes on an evening was perfect. Then just a short walk through dunes and you’re on a fantastic beach!! Marten left extra special touches that we really appreciated- a bottle of wine on arrival and some candles to light by the tent as the sun went down. There is a toilet, hot shower and kitchen located towards the main house which were great. We cooked here a couple of nights and found we had all the amenities - pots, pans, plates, burner etc. Marten was a fantastic host. The place was clean comfy and we even got extra blankets incase we got cold (we didn’t!). He was great at offering expert advice on which beaches were best for surfing etc. We will be back!

The villa is super charming and the outside area is simply wonderful! Communication with Ana was excellent, always attentive. We love the stay and the special moment of having a coffee next to the sheep, a unique and charming experience!

Fantastic value for money accommodation! the location is PERFECT. Right across the beautiful beach of Tres Castellos, in a quieter area of Portimao but very walkable distance to Praia da Rocha, the popular bar and restaurant strip and all you need for a holiday. Waking up to the beautiful views of the sea from the balcony and enjoying a coffee there was something else. Margarida is a brilliant host and sent us very detailed instructions on how to get the keys and get to the apartment. She was very responsive whenever we had any questions and nothing was too much trouble. The apartment had all the amenities we needed and a washing machine which proved very helpful. The building has some issues with seasonal midgets but the flat itself was very clean. Thank you for a lovely stay!

I had the most incredible stay in this property. It was a last minute booking as my travel plans changed and I honestly feel like I was dealt the luckiest hand in finding this gem! The place is tranquil, so tastefully designed, cool (even in this heat!) and to top it off, has a plunge pool on the roof. The hosts have thought of every little detail - I believe they live there - and all I can say is; they live in style! Each room has its own unique charm, it’s such a special place. As hosts they were really accomodating, suggesting a great local restaurant (Cha Cha Cha - the flash fried tuna salad was majestic) and some day trips for me to do the next time I stay - which I hope to do in the very near future. I am honestly floating on air after my time there. Thank you so much Steph & Ben!

We spent 3 nights in this very well located (2 min walk to the downtown and beach!), very modern and bright and spaceous cute space. Would stay here again!

We stayed 6 nights at Bas’ place and expected to use it as a base to explore the Alentejo region. Instead we found the home and the town to be so lovely, we only went out one day to the seashore (which was amazing even in mid April). Bas has created a space with everything you need, including a beautiful view, and we appreciated the artistic designs of the space and the furniture. The hilly quaint town of Odemira was beginning its April celebrations of justice and liberty and we were lucky enough to catch a concert of many local choral groups singing the Cante Alentejano style. As for delicious Portuguese food, try the cataplana de tamboril at O Tarros (we ate there 3 times) and the bola de berlim at cafe Rita. And of course, the Alentejano wines. What a treat to experience what Bas has discovered. And he made it so easy with great instructions and communication. Highly recommend!

The property was exactly as advertised and was everything we had hoped for. It was clean and the scenery was beautiful. The terrace was such a highlight and made the property one of the best Airbnbs we’ve stayed in. The nearby beach is one of the best in the area and we enjoyed the easy 30min walk into the town centre every day. Maarten and Elke were incredibly responsive and super helpful! I can’t recommend this Airbnb enough!

We had a wonderful stay; the home is absolutely beautiful, spotlessly clean and very peaceful. Everything that we needed was available on-site and the location of the property is excellent. Our host was super helpful and the booking process was seamless. We will definitely return again with our children and friends.
