Cottage vacation rentals in Lake of the Woods

Sheri and Hernan were great hosts. Very spacious accommodations, well equipped and comfortable for our family. Especially enjoyed the location, easy access to Fort Frances and local convenience store. Lovely setting, fishing was very good. Our family enjoyed our stay. Can’t say enough about the lovely setting, enjoyed sitting on the deck watching the sunset. We certainly will consider this for future family gatherings. Thanks again Sheri and Hernan.

An absolutely amazing trip. We booked the boathouse to get away from the world for a few days and experience one of Minnesota's beautiful lakes. When we arrived at the boat landing, Julia was waiting for us and took us out to the island. During our visit, we never went further out then we could paddle. The island is a very serene setting - a perfect blend of awe inspiring nature, as well as rustic, yet very comfortable anemities. We spent our days sleeping in a comfortable bed, cooking lunch in the full kitchen while taking in the beauty of the lake, taking in the smell of the pines and exploring the waters on kayaks, paddleboards, and the aquabike. We enjoyed a beautiful sunset every night from the shore, and took our time looking at the endless stars before before retiring to the boathouse for the night. At night, we listened to the waves crash against the shore and loons sing to each other. To the people who grew up visiting the Northwoods, this will feel very nostalgic, and people who have never been will enjoy the new memories and experiences greatly. A perfect place to disconnect from the world. In addition to the wonderful nature and great boat house, Julia is an absolute gem of a person. From the moment we met her, she was so kind and welcoming. You can tell she has a great love and appreciation for the island. She was extremely responsive to questions prior to arriving, as well as when we were on the island. I cannot thank her enough.

Graeme’s place was the perfect location for all of our needs. We were welcomed by the neighbors and we. felt right at home. The screened porch was the perfect place to relax, play games, and watch the thunderstorms. Would stay there again!

Helen’s place was a great place for a get away from the city. A ton of space for outdoor activities and BBQs. Lots of beds to accommodate the whole family. Perfect location for quick access to great amenities like several golf courses and Eagles Nest Landing fishing lodge. I would consider renting with Helen again.

Our stay at Joels cabin was excellent. Everything was as described. There were no surprises.The cabin was very clean and well stocked with the amenities that we needed. The view from the cabin and deck was beautiful, looking out onto the clear water of Crow Lake and the Canadian Shield. Our morning coffee’s on the deck were peaceful and oh so enjoyable. Having a boat launch and boat docking space in a protected inlet that was viewable from the cabin, not only was a great convenience, but also added a nice sense of security in being able to keep an eye on our boat. The cabin is situated on a lake that has the most clear, clean water. Fishing was great right on Crow Lake for lake trout and bass. The cabin is also in close proximity to Lake of Woods, which is just across the highway. Lots of walleye, bass and crappie if that’s what you’re after. Joel, his wife and their dog Annie were excellent, gracious hosts. They afforded you your privacy, but were right there if anything was needed.

Doug was a fantastic host and very responsive and accommodating to our needs during the stay. We had to extend our stay due to work and he made this a stress free process for us. The location is beautiful and had everything we needed to make our one week stay comfortable. I would highly recommend this location and host. Thank you Doug for being so accommodating !

Cabin was clean, organized and in a beautiful location. We used the loft which was a great added space. Hosts respond quickly when we had questions. Enjoyed ice fishing on the river right next to the property, neighbor had plowed a nice walking path along the river! We really enjoyed our time, hope to come again!

Three of my fishing buddies and I made our annual trip to red lake. We found this hidden gem online. We loved the quiet, secluded setting of this cabin on the Tamarac River with all the amenities of home. The sunrises and sunsets were a bonus along with the outdoor seating at fire pit and patio. Morning coffee in the porch watching the sunrise started our day off. We will be back soon!!!

We had a great stay at Carrie's Cottage. It was very clean, exactly as described in the listing, and nice and private! We stopped here for a couple nights during an extended RV trip, and the driveway had plenty of space for our 35" motorhome! Thanks a lot Carrie!

We were a group 6 people and the airbnb was clean and offered a relaxing space to unwind and mingle with friends comfortably. There was plenty of extra towels and duvets. The night sky is beautiful in the hot tub with pretty low light pollution in the area!

The place was perfect, large and spacious. Loved the wrap around deck. Clean kitchen with several small appliances and lots of windows. Perfect dining nook with a nice table and a beautiful wooden bench, perfect for sitting at and playing cards or games. Clean comfortable beds with nice linens. It's a short walk to the farmer's market, a little further to the beach. There was a nice listing of local events and businesses, very much appreciated.

What an amazing place! We loved spending time here and enjoying nature. Our 3 year old did not want to leave “the brown house” and did not want to leave Canada! We did star gazing outside the house one night and a cozy movie night inside the second night. During the day we went hiking across the border. We are already considering visiting again.

Staying at Pranavs place was wonderful. Beautiful and private location. Beautiful cottage with lots of backyard and front yard space. Clean in everywhere and a beautiful hottub. So nice to sit in the hottub and see the beautiful night sky and so many stars! We will be back, my family loved it.

Great serene place to stay. I hate giving great reviews because then everyone books the space I would like again but it would only be fair to give a great review. This is probably the cleanest Airbnb I have ever stayed in

We really enjoyed our time at this Airbnb. My husband and I were spending a few days there with another couple. There was a full bathroom on the upper level and a half bath on the main level which was nice. We wanted a place by the waterfront where we could kick back and relax in a quiet location. It was all that. We were there on a cold weekend so we thoroughly enjoyed the cozy warmth of the wood stove and the outside hot tub. The kitchen had all the essentials we needed to do some food prep and cooking. All the appliances worked well and it was quite clean throughout the home. I enjoy reading and the sunroom was a good spot Lukas' description of the property was accurate and looked like the photos. We would likely stay there again when we visit Gimli in the future.

The place is amazing and the location is even better

We just got back from the most wonderful stay at this cute little cabin, and we’re already talking about when we can come back! Four of us (plus our dog) spent a few days here and had an absolute blast. The cabin is cozy, clean, and full of charm—exactly what you picture when you think of a peaceful retreat in nature. There was plenty of room for all of us to relax comfortably, and we loved all the thoughtful touches throughout the space. The kitchen had everything we needed, the bed is comfy, and the outdoor area was perfect for morning coffee and evening stargazing. Our pup especially loved having the space to roam and explore—huge bonus that the property is so dog-friendly!

Great place to stay for a quiet getaway for 2! Candace was a great host and communicated very clearly. she provided a very welcoming stay away from home. would definitely recommend for a nice weekend away.

Sherriann’s cabin was great. We had my dad’s 70th birthday celebration with 6 adults, 4 kids, and one small dog, and it was fabulous! Kids loved the trampoline and zip line. Well stocked and exactly as described. Sherriann was responsive and extremely kind. Thanks for having us!

We had a wonderful weekend away. The cabin is just as described. It was fully stacked with anything we could think of. It was clean, newer, with nice Canadiana decor. The area is close to walking trails, the harbour for fishing, and a quick 5 minute drive to the beach or the convenience store incase you forgot anything. The area was quiet, lots of birds and tall mature trees around. Really peaceful to have your morning coffee on the front porch. Diana was responsive to any questions and very accommodating. We definitely want to come back.

Truely a home away from home! the location was top notch just mere minutes from winnipeg beach. quiet neighborhood, nice to be able to enjoy a bonfire and BBQ with everything you needed! the kitchen was well stocked and the beds super comfy! rhe rain shower head was an amazing touch and so nice to enjoy after 2 days in the sun

This is our second time staying at this wonderful home, and we absolutely love it! Everything is thoughtfully designed for a comfortable and relaxing stay. The children’s playground is fantastic—our kids had so much fun! We truly feel at home here and can’t wait to come back again.
