Lake Bunyonyi Community Rest House

The house is opposite to Rutinda and located just 200 meters from the lake shore. You access the house crossing the lake with a local canoe or with the community boat. The house is newly built, with solar power, local shower and pit latrine. The place is really peaceful : no roads, no noise, except the birds songs all day long, and the view on to the lake is beautiful. Activities we can offer: Boat trips, hiking, swimming, stand up paddling, bird watching, visiting local communities.

A well-manicured garden is featured, with neatly trimmed hedges and a grass lawn. Clothing is hung on a line to dry. The surrounding hillside is visible, providing a lush green backdrop to the home, where a rustic structure with a sloped roof can be seen.

It's the perfect place for birdwatching too. It's really peaceful with just the forest sounds. Sometimes the gorillas , forest elephants, monkeys and duikers visit the camp .

Very good stay, the Airbnb is located very close to one of the entry of Mgahinga National Park with a beautiful view of the mountains. The place is clean, and the employees are very welcoming and helpful. Thank you again for everything !

Great secluded huts on the island, the staff was super accommodating and the breakfast was good. It is worth noting that electricity for charging is only available 6pm-10pm and that wifi was only at the restaurant and not reliable.. Getting to the mainland and back was an extra fee outside of check in&out. All in all we didnt mind and thought it was still a great place to rest

The true highlights of this place are the wonderful staff and the beautiful location. Our request for an upgrade was handled promptly and kindly. We stayed in the Marigold tree house, which was spacious, spotless, and had excellent hot water pressure. The photos really don’t do it justice - it's even more charming in person. The complimentary boat transfer to and from the shore to the property was a lovely bonus, and the food at the on-site restaurant was absolutely delicious. Special thanks to Jimmy and Hillary (the chef) for taking such great care of us - they were always friendly, attentive, and eager to help. A special thanks to Phillip for quick communication The property is very peaceful, offering stunning views of the lake, and everything is very well maintained. It’s the perfect spot if you’re looking to unwind and reconnect with nature. The wifi is only available in the restaurant area, but we actually appreciated the chance to disconnect and enjoy the serene surroundings.

Gorgeous place and as others have said, the best shower ever! To get to the treehouse is a steep hike (but I managed to get all my steps in) so be prepared.
