Medieval Fort, Sud Ardèche stunning loft with pool

Formally a fortified castle “Fort de La Bastide “ was constructed on the site of a Roman military station. The earliest historical mention is 1417 and it's long history includes an invasion in 1584 by Protestants during the period of the Huguenot wars. The fort has maintained many original features including the old stone staircase at the front door leading up to a 4 bedroomed loft apartment . There is full access to the large garden including an 10mx4m in-ground heated swimming pool .

Welcome to La Glycine at Mas de la Giralde in the serene and restful commune of Payzac. The room is part of the main house and overlooks the large gardens and the pool with views to the distant mountains. Guests staying in La Glycine will be served a continental breakfast on the covered terrace. Guests have shared use of the large swimming pool (11m x 5m) from May to September, and a fully equipped summer kitchen is available for use.

Guests can enjoy the calm and freshness of the inner courtyard of the house, in the shade of the linden tree, or activities in the village square.

Our house is located in Southern Ardèche 10 minutes from Les Vans, in a very small hamlet overlooking the Chassezac, close to secret swimming and enchanted walks, it is a 17th century stone house that houses my creative workshop and two guest rooms. A breakfast consisting of homemade products (bread, granola etc...), fresh products from our garden or neighboring farms installed in permaculture is offered.
