Here there is good opportunity for hunting, fishing and mountain hiking just nearby. The area has many hiking trails of different levels of difficulty and length. In the winter there are good opportunities for all skiing and snowmobile activities with slopes nearby. Øksfjord is located about 30 km from the cabin and there you can take the ferry over to Sørøya which is Norway's largest island with no mainland connection. At the cabin you can see the northern lights dancing over the cabin on a clear winter evening or experience the light 24 hours a day on a summer evening.

Welcome to Sørstraumen View which is near E6 but still secluded. The cabin is close to the sea, with lovely views in all directions, including to Storstraumen, which is a very good fishing area. The area around the cabin is open and a good starting point for walking, hunting and fishing. There is a road all the way up to the cabin with parking. A small grocery store is also available nearby, where you can buy most of what you need. The cabin is cozy, with three small bedrooms and sleeps 5.

We had a wonderful stay in Gunnhilds little paradise. The house is very cosy and the surroundings spectacular. Gunnhild is a great host and always there for support when needed. We really hope to be back another time! :-)

We had a lovely overnight stay at the cabin this Friday and honestly, it was exactly what I needed after working 10 days straight. The place was peaceful, clean, and cozy—such a perfect reset. The bed was super comfortable and everything we needed was right there. We brought our new puppy along, and let’s just say… he wasn’t on his best behavior (he even had an accident on the carpet 😅). But our hosts were incredibly kind and understanding about it, which we really appreciated. So grateful for how accommodating they were—it made the stay even more special. Definitely recommend this place if you’re looking for a quiet escape with warm-hearted hosts!

Kjækan Lodge - Navit

Rustic detached house overlooking the sea and the mountains in an extremely quiet area, perfect for relaxing holidays and recreation in nature. And also ideally located for watching dancing northern lights. Ina is a very accommodating and proactive landlady who unobtrusively took care of my well-being in her house.

This was our second time staying here and everything was still perfect. We had some issues on the road and our arrival was able to be postponed without any problems. We arrived very late in a ready-made cabin. As we said before, we would recommend it in a second. The place is very beautiful, the lake in front is perfect for seeing the aurora. The cabin is charming, the bathrooms are clean, access is easy and flexible, the hosts are lovely. In short, stop without hesitation!
