The Stone House mountain retreat: open all year.

Take a step back in time and stay in this unique, beautiful old stone house, set on a steep mountain slope, surrounded by woods and terraces, ideal for walkers and nature lover's. A glorious sandy beach with two shipwrecks is a twenty five min. drive away. In the winter the Stone House has a wood burning fire making it an accommodation which is suitable for holidays in all seasons, especially walking holidays, each season having it's own special charm. Newly converted stone wall farmhouse apartment situated in the quiet, green village of Vourkoti, 20 minutes drive from the town of Chora and beaches. The shared patio opposite the apartment overlooks the well-known beach of Achla while nearby footpaths lead to Andros routes trails to neighbouring villages and a beautiful waterfall. Nearby there is a river with shady trees, a stone bridge, springwater and traditional farmhouses with carefully tended fruit and vegetable gardens, trees and flowers.

Βρισκομαστε στο κεντρο της παλιας πολης της Ανδρου μολις λιγα μετρα απο την αγορα της Χωρας.Το σπιτι ειναι μεζονετα 40τμ στον κατω χωρο υπαρχει το καθιστικο με καναπε που γινετε κρεβατι και ενα διπλο κρεβατι.Στον επανω χωρο βρισκεται ενα μονο κρεβατι , μπανιο με ντουζιερα και το μπαλκονι με θεα τον πεζοδρομο της παλιας πολης ,κουζινα η οποια παρεχει την καταπληκτικη θεα στην παραλια Παραπορτι μολις λιγα βηματα .

I had a wonderful stay at Mrs Kallis Cottage in Piso Maria. Maria was a wonderful host looking after me and making sure I had everything I needed throughout my stay as did Dalfy her dog every morning. The cottage is located on the south of the island in the mountains, which is a drive from the main ports of access, but it adds to the ‘detox’ element of your stay and I found it far more relaxing being in the mountains nearer to the authentic town of Ormos Korthiou than Gavriou or Mbatsi. Ormos Korthiou is beautiful and it is only a 30-40 minute drive to Mbatsi or Andros (Chora). The cottage itself is finished to a very high standard with a wonderful shower, gorgeous nespresso machine, and very comfortable bed. I very much appreciated all of the interior design of the property which you can tell has been finished with every detail in mind. I would highly recommend staying at Maria’s cottage in Andros without a doubt. Thank you, Angus 🧿

Thank you so much for this stay in your heavenly home! The sea view is splendid. The house is extremely clean, very well-equipped, spacious and pleasant. We were able to visit Chora on foot and also take very nice hikes on the island from Chora. Thank you!!

The house is located in a green estate, in a quiet location. It is spacious, clean and beautiful and has a beautiful view! It's comfortable for four people. The kids were creatively busy on the estate and enjoyed the countryside! It is very close to Chora by car and a large supermarket of the neighborhood. Maria was very helpful, kind and hospitable. She always answered our questions in a timely manner. We had a great time! Thank you so much.

We felt totally comfortable in Eirini's house. She waited for us on the main street when we arrived in the evening and took us to the house. The access road is very steep and narrow (paved), but you get used to it. It's absolutely quiet for that! Eirini gave us eggs from her chickens (which you can also hear outside from time to time) and delicious homemade muffins. Fragrant shrubs grow everywhere around the house - it is pure relaxation. We will be happy to come back.

The cozy sleeping area features a spacious bed with white linens and neatly arranged towels. Soft light from a bedside lamp highlights the rustic stone walls and charming wooden furniture, enhancing the room's welcoming atmosphere. Two small windows with delicate curtains allow for natural light.

Mary-Konstantina and Vangelis are perfect, very generous, warm and kind hosts. The Pigeon House is charming and full of character. It is beautifully situated in a tranquil valley with stunning views. It is comfortable, very clean and well equipped with plenty of little extras like coffee and shampoo which we really appreciated. The hosts are on hand should you need anything but carefully respected our privacy too. They were responsive and helpful with recommendations. Would definitely recommend and would love to come back!
