“I just visited Dave’s place with a few friends to celebrate my 40th birthday, and the place was even nicer than I’d hoped. I brought all kinds of extra stuff in fear that we might run out of some basics, but they had everything; a huge closet of towels, all kinds of paper towels and plates, a variety of spices in the kitchen and all kinds of cooking gadgets I didn’t expect. I was worried for absolutely nothing! The hot tub was great, and it started snowing hard while we were out on the back porch hanging out. It was so beautiful that we felt like we were in a snow globe! The fireplace was big and beautiful too, and the furnishings were largely artisanal and make of gorgeous hardwood. Every room had its own additional heat source, and all my friends said that their beds were very comfortable. There was a stack of extra sleeping bags and pillows up in the loft, too, so really I could have arrived with just food and pajamas and I wouldn’t have needed anything else. At some point an unscheduled ping pong tournament occurred as well. I could go on for a long time about the fancy fire pit, the nice grill, the ample parking, the convenient but private location, but I gotta stop somewhere. Just book the thing, you won’t regret it.”
Our cottage is a beautiful Arts and Crafts style home located on the Allegheny River, just north of Foxburg, PA. The kitchen and bath are newly redone and the rest of the house refinished keeping in mind the period of construction.
“The perfect weekend getaway. We loved spending a cold January weekend at Norma's cabin. The scenery was beautiful with on-site river access, nicely landscaped yard and birds and wildlife. While feeling remote and serene, this location is very close to restaurants, wineries and quaint shops in nearby towns. Less than ten minutes by driving to one winery that we enjoyed, August Falls, where the owners greeted you in their home and freely share their knowledge of dry and sweet wine plus generous free sample pours. We really appreciated the cleanliness, thoughtful touches and amenities that the cabin offered and we were able to cook all of our meals there for the weekend (by choice wanting to stay in during the cold snowy/rainy days). Thanks, Norma, for such a lovely stay and for allowing our fur babies to enjoy this vacation too. We definitely recommend you try this stay and will not be disappointed.”
